Jason Taylor ...THREAD...

I actually think Taylor will see out the year and if close enough to the eight next year as well. But should we finish 15th/16th…..

Yeah, anywhere between 9th and 12th should be enough to see him into 2017 imo. 2017 is the 8 or bust.

Well Meyer was in charge when he took over wasn't he? And Meyer believed we'd be challengers for the title in 2017 right? So JT certainly talked it up. 😱pen_mouth:

But your right. Close to the 8 and he'll survive. Bottom few and he'll be nervous and the only thing to save his career will be our lack of cash.

Mentioned in another forum that Taylor should have his contract extended to 2018\. Sends a clear message to the players the board is backing the coach. Importantly thought, he still has the constraints of the past till the end of 2017 (salary cap).

2018 should be finals or bust for Taylor.

As has been stated before, the club can't keep sacking coaches and not letting them finish their tenure..its a recipe for disaster and we have been down that road before…for all the negatives that are posted on the forum,JT hasn't done to bad a job with what he has,the team has had close losses and a belting in the last few weeks, however the win over the Rabbits was admirable considering the team let themselves, the fans and JTdown the week before..I think they will turn the corner now, hopefully they gain much needed confidence out of the win and play with plenty of pride for the club and fans that have placed faith in them...

Facts:-

1\. We don't sack coaches.
2\. Under JT we finished 2nd last on for and against last year. This was our equal worst year ever.
3\. We've had a terrible start to the year this year.

Sheens was sacked….
We didn't get the wooden spoon.....
We won our first two games..great start to the season...

Facts....

It's fact that we've sacked a lot less coaches than a lot of teams

Spot on, 1 coach sacked in this our 17th season,, and that 1 coach should have been moved on way earlier.
It really bugs me to hear all this we can't keep sacking coaches, we don't but we should, we should not except failure every year.

Who cares if they were ''sacked'' or just not renewed, We've had 3 coaches in the last 5 seasons. Fact.

Taylor has took the team to equal last in 2015 missing the spoon on F/A, and in 2016 we are 3rd last after 9 rounds with the 2nd worse defence, leaking 26.55 points per game, fact, he deserves to go on that alone.

And he should take some of the highly paid not up to NRL standard players with him as well as the defensive coaching staff…..

There is a big difference between sacked and didn't offer them a new contract

What difference? It's still a revolving door of coaches with very little stability.

Also what we should be doing is to stop buying bargain basement Coaches in the first place

id hardly call ours a revolving door compared to other clubs over the time since we started Someonehad the stats for that not long ago , and makes a joke of anyone referring to us as a revolving door

He has been great.

We are only 2 points out of the eight.

Having potentially 4 coaches in 5 seasons would be a revolving door. It would be a joke to claim otherwise.

Would it be a joke to claim 4 coaches in 14 years as a revolving door?

Yes I agree, we need accountability and what you suggested would be a fantastic start.

I love your glass half full outlook, I wish I could have that much belief, but I just can't see it on past performances.
I have been a supporter for over 40 years and I know glass half full always ends up empty.

Who cares what happened in the previous 11 yrs. 4 coaches in 5 yrs would be ridiculous.
