Jeff Lima

Cmon Lima, you know you wanna sign with us, don't be scared of helping us knockover your OLD premiership winning team next year, they won't hate you too much when we wipe the floor with them. Bring it on big fella, we're awaiting!

it will be a miracle if lima signs especially with lote on his way here, im 90% sure lima wont be here next year. hope im wrong but from what ive heard its all gonna depend on what lote does

I think Lima was the pick of the three, at least he is still playing in the NRL, the other two are unknown comodities, regardless of how good they once were.

Whens lote going to hurry up and decide though? We need an answer so we can move on. Least we have Cayless but another front rower would be even nicer

LOL what is wrong with some people? Lima has come out twice and said he wont be leaving melbourne and you guys take that as hes playing mind games? why would he do that to the melbourne club and fans who have been so good to them? Imagine if one of our players kept coming out and saying hes not going, hes not going, then signed elsewhere - blowups deluxe

That is true, however sometimes sentiment and reality are two different things. If storm management tells Jeff he is going because of cap troubles, sentiment won't change that. If the deal was concerning one of their top 3 players, things would be different, but Lima probably fits the profile of a player that could be moved on - saving valuable cap money and not changing the team dynamic too much.

I just watched the 2009 grandfinal again and as Lima goes up to get his ring, he chats to Gallop for an extended period, then he walks up to the announcer and taps him on the back asking him if he could say something…just as he is about to speak Warren Smith and the fox commentators pick up their post game wrap so you dont hear what he says! Am I being hopefull that he was thanking Melbounre for everything as he was moving on???...yeah i know, i am being hopefull!!!!

I think he asked whether he could say something to the people in Samoa, like dedictaed the ring or win to them or something like that.

Chances of signing Jeff in my eyes are below 5% i reckon… We wont have enough money for all three (cayless and Turqiri) It will have to be either Lima or Turqiri

The longer Melbourne hold out on making a decision as to who they move on, the more chance we have of snaring Lima. For mine, Having signed Cayless, the pressure is off our recruitment now to sign another prop. So Lima would just be the icing on the cake. The longer it drags on, Melbourne will be more and more desparate as they must, and I say MUST, offload player/s to reduce their cap. I can see us picking up Lima on the cheap for the 2010, but paying him good dollars in 2011 and 2012.

I see good times ahead for the Wests Tigers :wahoo:

Spot on Tigh… It is definitely in Melbourne's interest to offload him now and not pro-long the whole ordeal... Everyone have a bit of faith and we'll all be waking up to the official announcement of brand new memberships packages, a brand new major sponsor, Lote Tuqiri signing for 2yrs and Lima for 3yrs...

*fingers crossed

He dedicated the win to the people of Samoa.

Oh cheers! thanks, wish i could have heard it! By the way Benny Elias is on talkin sport and is saying that he will sign with us, he basically said he is coming…but wouldnt give us any timing of when he would sign.

How many of Benny's predictions come true?…maybe if he said he'd back it up with some 3rd party agreements then I'd believe it more...

There is room under the cap. From what WT are saying in the papers Tuqiri will only take up $55K a season out of the cap. That is chicken feed and leaves planty for Cayless and Tuqiri.

How much coin did Cayless agree to ?? it wouldn't be too much surely?
