Did you go?The team looks extremely unfit with very few athletes who have the body shape and tools to potentially become NRL stars.
A positive was a cameo from Heath Mason who threw a nice pass for the last Tigers try scored by Kirk.
Yes was at the game.Did you go?
Score? Summary of how he went?
Thanks for the info @Vicious . How do Iverson Matai & Mikey Tannous look in the halves, particularly Matai?Yes was at the game.
Very boring predictable attack, basically just a one out hit up for the first 3-4 tackles and then a slow shift for one or two tackles before the last tackle kick.
I could hear the sideline regularly asking them to play some football, but it fell on deaf ears.
We just don’t seem to have any athletes with size and speed to really worry the opposition and the ball movement too slow to really bring our better players into the game.
Mason got about the last 15mins, got rag dolled into his own in goal in one of his first touches, but he was regularly sniffing to get involved and you can just see the genuine competitor in him.
If it was up to me I’d play him ion the halves in Flegg ASAP.
You can never write off young players as they always have plenty of scope for improvement, particularly if they have the right attitude. But they both look very premeditated and predicable with every touch. Thanks for the info @Vicious . How do Iverson Matai & Mikey Tannous look in the halves, particularly Matai?
He should probably be playing all games from here on, but then he's also about to do his HSC so clubs tend to give school boys more leeway. But still, we don't have any strategy about promotion in youth, even though our Flegg games are on the weekend...With Lachlan Galvin joining the nrl squad next year how has he not played even 1 game of Flegg.
Gould made the observation NRL halves are coached well to play certain roles and moves. Imo it is a player like Laurie who brings the curve ball to the game with his natural ball playing instincts eg his unpredictable raids down the blind. You either have it or you don't. I think back to some of the best ball players I watched - Cliffy Lyons, Paul Davis, Percy Knight, Jonathan Thurston. I don't believe it is any coincidence all are indigenous Australians. We need to work hard and scout indigenous communities for our halves. Forgot to mention our own Benji Marshall not indigenous Australian but of Maori descent. You can never write off young players as they always have plenty of scope for improvement, particularly if they have the right attitude. But they both look very premeditated and predicable with every touch.
It would take a massive improvement for either of them to play NRL.
Also hope I’m wrong I wouldn’t notice everyone at the ground, but did not see any of our coaching staff there.
Surely they need to see who is playing well etc for future reference?
Possibly the strongest team we have put out in Flegg this year. Fantastic to see Mason get the starting fb role!Jersey Flegg Cup - Round 22 vs. Rabbitohs

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a Feledy try assist or 2 in there. Unsure of his defensive abilities, but definitely quick, a good finisher and I remember reading an article somewhere along the line that he is fully dedicated to his off field training and preparation.Kirk sure knows how to find the line….
