Very disappointing comms from the club this pre-season on pathways. Hopefully Mielekamp sorts this out.

Yeah I reckon you’re right. A few JF age eligible players will be training with the NSW Cup squad atm and will drop back.
Really ? I don’t mean to yuck your yam , but I find the lack of noise to be refreshing . I eas honestly hoping for zero comms all pre season on everything , outside of social media photos and videos . The whole December debacle almost emphasised what I’m talking about . I think the club should just STFU about everything . Keep it all in house . Even if it’s what the guys favourite Powerade flavour . Nothing ! Zero! . Because years of “rumours are that tigers player X is upset that they have been training at X position or “backflip as tigers player suddenly quits to go to rival club” or even worse “tigers board does it again “ or “X player signs for X club , says he wants to win a premiership”. You know what I mean ? .
I’ve personally found the silence blissful . Which is why I was so pissed off about the December stuff . In years gone past I would have seen the silence as a sign of trouble , namely because no one could just STFU about anything , but now I see it as the way it should be ; they’re doing their job and will let us know when the do .

The lack of the type of noise you are talking about is refreshing.

But the club still needs to engage with its members & fans and keep them invested over the quiet period. The odd profile yarn on some of our players would be nice so we can learn a bit more about them.

In terms of pathways, the club has done jack sh*t on comms. It would be nice to have known the summer training squads even for those small % of us who follow the junior reps & pathways and even some training pics. But we have to rely on the players on Tiktok & Insta for any sort of content.

Piss poor imo & I've worked in professional football comms.

It’s like the club thinks there’s no one that follows/is interested in Jnr reps

It's disappointing if that's the case. The club should be trying to build a connection between fans & our pathways especially if Mielekamp wants to create a world-leading pathways system.

I could be a parent of a young player and if I have that connection with the club already, there is greater chance I will keep my kid in its pathways system rather than another club.

Any players stand out at Lidcombe on Saturday B2 TL or anyone else who attended ?
Am I right is saying Riley Oitmann didn’t seem like he got much game time, but was sharp and made the line break to create the final try once he was given an opportunity ?

The big, hairy number 11 was the one that caught my eye in the first half. I've since learned he is Ieti Samuelu, a Kiwi who played with the Parra Flegg team previously.

Yes Oitmann came on late and backed up the hooker down centerfield to set up the final try.

The Roosters were too physical for us early -there big islander prop offloaded everytime he hit it up and it was a bit like men vs boys at times. But Wests hung in really well and the longer it went the better we became.

That Brendan Whatshisface, winger from Flegg last year, was good in the second half.
The Roosters scored off a bomb to take the lead with about four minute to go and seriously, that was the only way they looked like scoring in the second half.

It was difficult as there was no team list to go off - but there was a bloke playing for the Roosters who was a dead ringer for Jaxson Rahme.

So either my eyesight is dodgier than I already realized, or we've misplaced a middle

I watched some of it on Bar TV. Yeah Samuelu (Bunty's bobbleganger) was good, seems a workhorse with some impact. I think most of these NSW Cup players will be playing Ron Massey this season unless we have a bad injury run. Max Liles also played and was fair.

Out of our Flegg guys, yeah Oitmann only played the last 15 mins and his acceleration & fullback nous was the reason for our game-equalising try in the last minute.

I thought the young halfback #20 I think he wore showed promising signs in the last 20 mins when the Flegg boys were on & there was a big bopper that stood out for us late (forgot his number) who certainly has the physical attributes.
