Players replaced or they just couldn't cope with relentless size 'n power.
Stuffing knocked out of them; no one tackled their legs like Api does.
They just steamrolled through with guys hanging off them--momentum., and back peddling Tigers.

We won the first 25 mins then our stating props went off, they came back on on final 25 mins which we also won. Our bench middles were disgraceful, theirs were great

Was Lenny Plato who has been great off the bench all season injured or just not selected?
Also Sione Lolohea who was very good for us early in the season, all of a sudden being left out?
Some very strange team selections.

Definitely Sharks interchanges around 20 minutes in turned momentum. You could see a clear drop of heads after the interception despite us still leading by 10. No doubt there is talent in our team but they all need a real check of their mental space because the body language once the Sharks got on top was really poor. We dropped the ball over the line next to the post which I think would’ve made 28-26 & game on but instead 2 sets later the Sharks scored.

It seemed as though he took moors and duncombe off at the same time they scored the next 7 tries? Game over

A sliding doors moment & smart coaching tactic was the difference today.

1 We were well on top at 20-4 on the attack when Ryder Huth threw a cut-out ball which the Sharks winger intercepted & went length of the field. If he doesn't take the intercept, Huahulu was unmarked and scores for us with all the momentum our way. This took a lot of wind out of our sails.

2 Very evident the Sharks were coached today to change direction a lot in the heat and direct play inside into the middle, a lot directed at Haywood. This tactic was smart to fatigue our middles especially Haywood. Worked a treat in that middle third of the game when they piled on 48 unanswered points, most with plays back through the middle. Evident Jared was gassed as he didn't have the strength to make key tackles leading to tries.

Thought Taupau-Moors, Attard, Duncombe, Pritchard & Huth were our best. Honourable mention to Tauafaiga.

Unfortunately we couldn't stop the momentum with our bench middles Futialo, Laupepa & Ta'ai with a Haywood who was being ambushed.

The losses of Jericho-Talisau, Kit Laulilii & Leni Plati (who brings line speed & effort) and not having a rotation for Haywood in the heat cost us the win in hindsight.

Great season by the lads, sh*t way to go out but great to have the club back into finals footy.

Thoughts on the Taotua boys from yesterdays game and thoughts on their future progression prospects?
I know I read Max has some sort of deal with us for next season, not sure if it is Development, Teain & Trial or a NSW Cup deal?
I would like both to be given another season on a lower tier deal and they clearly have the size, power and mobility to be very dominant players, but if haven’t say this season was lacklustre from both of them.
They don’t seem to be players who show much resilience when the opposing team has the momentum and that is the big thing they need to work hard on changing if they are to improve their NRL chances.

Lenny Plati got injured in round 25 he come up limping with no boot must be some foot injury and no sure about sione lolohea last time i saw him he was playing club for east campbelltown and played a hell of a game

It didn’t make sense that Plati would not be included if fit to play as he has been very strong all season off the bench.
He’s been so good that I hope Wests Tigers keep him next season on a NSW Cup contract, I reckon he’s got scope to move through the grades and it would be interesting to see how he goes at 13.
Not sure why Sione Lollohea fell out of favour, he’s that alpha aggressive style of prop and would have been very handy when we were under the pump yesterday.

Ryder Huth throwing that intercept when we had a big lead was a massive turning point.
Unfortunate because he ended up scoring 3 tries and has shown himself to be a very good up and coming attacking player with a bright future.

Hey @Vicious the Taotua brothers certainly have the ability & the physical/athletic profile to become NRL players of the future as you say.

My concern is whether they have that certain ingredient mentally to progress to NRL level or just be good NSW Cup level players. I can't really put it into words, it's kinda that gut feeling.

Max is susceptible to basic handling errors which was on show yesterday and is often found out defensively for speed with fullbacks sweeping at speed & getting on his outside. Like Saukuru, I worry about some arm grabbing in defence too.

As you know I'm a big fan of Mitch but consistency is an issue with him & that ability to maintain intensity for long periods. I have noticed he struggles when up against big forwards/edges on his side despite his own size. When he fires up and runs hard & fast in games, he looks beast like but he doesn't do this enough imo.

I'm hoping both are just gradual maturers and will come into their own at age 22-24 like Vaka Aho. I think Max is on a Dev or fulltime T&T, whereas no word on Mitch yet. Ideally he lands a pre-season T&T and at least a NSW Cup contract with us for 27.

If they have the determination and will to succeed with their physical and athletic gifts, they will make it. But we know, these type of players are in the minority so will need some coaching and S&C support from the WT to flourish.
