Good to see Brandon Webster Mansfield back on the field.
Interesting both our Dev / Top 30 props for 23 are still in Flegg and lined up together.
‘I have no problems with this, worthwhile for these guys to build their game whilst they are still eligible for Flegg this year’
is Ma'anaima top 30 next year? wasn't aware that was the case.

Peni dropping a grade after a very good performance in Cup last week. he'll tear it up being back in Flegg.

I find it very odd that we took him out of Newcastle’s top 30 squad without providing the possibility of a similar opportunity.
Yeah I know. At the moment Sione Fainu, Fonua Pole & Rua Ngatikaura are the only additions from lower grades to top 30 next season, with Tumeth (22), O'Kane (22), Saukuru (22 & 23), Matamua (23), Feledy (23) on dev contracts, with The Pom mentioning Camroux, Scolari, Kautoga, Tannous shortlisted at this stage for dev deals for 23.

interested to see whether O'Kane or Tumeth will be elevated to Top 30 status come end of year. given our shortage in the back row I'd say at least one of them would have to make the switch.

Could be right. Hopefully Tumeth gets an uninterrupted run over the back half of the season as I really rate this kid & O'Kane seems to be improving in Cup each game.

I know we are looking short of nrl backrowers next year but some of that must be because we will take a chance on some of these young guys - Tumeth, okane, saukuru, kaitonga, matumura, Webster Mansfield , valevatu, guyan. Incredible depth of young backrowers
Ok say say “no idea” as its a long way off…. But if you had to take a punt…Out of “Tumeth, okane, saukuru, kaitonga, matumura, Webster Mansfield , valevatu, guyan”
  1. Who do you think will make it first
  2. Who do you think will have the most successful NRL career.

No idea but I don’t think it’s a long way off. I mean look at Nanai @18 . At tis stage you’d say Okane likely first given he has been playing the most nsw cup but Tumeth debuted in cup first despite being a year younger then okane. Maumura has a 3 yr contract, Webster Mansfield trained with the nrl squad over summer and was unlucky to get injured in the nrl trial, kitonga physically a beast. I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if 3 of them played nrl next year

As for most successful - genuinely no idea

It's an unfair comparison because as it stands O'Kane is the only who's been playing this year consistently, hes had the benifit of getting exposed to Cup more than the others and improving week to week. Tumeth and Guyan are more locks. It's good to see them coming back from injuries now.
Kitauga, like O'Kane was too good for Flegg, it was a shame he did his injury as he needed more time in cup to adapt to the step up.
From what I heard, Brandon Webster iwas more a centre coming through.
Do you know what Kautoga's injury is/how long he is out for?

I can't spell it, but that nasty high ankle injury.
Ah that sucks....those Syndesmosis injuries can take a while to recover. He has been out a little while, so fingers crossed a return isn't far away. The experience he can get from Cup towards the back end of the season could be crucial.

Do you have any inside knowledge on when Guyan and Api Saukuru will return from their injuries? We are going to be stocked in the forwards when they are all back!
