Wests Tigers have named their Jersey Flegg team for Round 1’s match against Victoria Thunderbolts on Sunday afternoon.

NRL squad member Junior Tupou will play his first game in Wests Tigers colours, running out alongside the likes of Henry O'Kane, Trey Peni and Christian Ma'anaima, who all trained with the top squad during pre-season.


Due to the weather, the Jersey Flegg match has been switched from CommBank Stadium on Saturday afternoon to Waminda Oval in Campbelltown at 2pm on Sunday.

The halves are a real head scratcher. With Kade Hill and Tyrone Roberts expected to start yet they're nowhere to be found?!

I was thinking the same. Quite confusing. Add Corey Thomas and Jaycob Anjoul to those names. Must be some injuries/Covid in the background.

Pleased to see Matamua in the team. I think he will make big leaps this year. The fact that Junior Tupou is here in Flegg and behind Pauga, indicates he is still a way off 1st grade (as it appeared in the trial).

Yeah must be a heap out with covid...? Looks like half the team, but then they've never gives any team lists for the flegg selection trials

Valevatu scored a few tries in flegg last year with the dogs. Lawler was with manly while Townsand was with the Knights and then Parra last year.

Disappointing. Were Melbourne's tries through the middle or out wide? Looks like it was mostly outside backs that scored.

Again this was a severely depleted line-up for whatever reason

Mostly wider. Half back went off injured in the second half and they shifted a lot of players around. Mundine struggled defending in the line when moved into the halves.

Same. I thought 2 comfortable wins were on the cards today, despite there being a number of missing players. Only Rd 1...hopefully the other boys come back in soon to strengthen the sides and they can show great improvement.
