Jerseys WTF?

So we have Manly playing tonight in jerseys that resemble Parramatta's against Brisbane in jerseys that look a lot like Manly's!

Why the hell do we even bother having team colours these days?
 
I live in Manly. Can't waiting to give my neighbours a little bit of crap tomorrow.
If they win.. All I'll be talking about is how well Parra played!
Dumb marketing ploy though. Who does it appeal to? Can't see any demographic to win over wearing those jerseys. All they are doing is upsetting a Manly fans… Which is not such a bad thing I guess.
 
How were the 5 teams selected to wear superhero jerseys?

We should be wearing the Iron Man jersey because he's the golden avenger. Where's the bloody gold in the dragons jersey????

Canberra/Hulk - ok I get it
Roosters/Captain America - yeah
Cowboys/Thor - maybe
Manly/Wolverine??????? No way

It was the five teams who are alligned with ISC as the producer of their merchendaise/jerseys.

Marvel jerseys good idea, execution fail. I would like to see the sales figures for the Many jersey in Parramatta colours. I would suspect it would be very close to 0.

Never really got into superheroes. superman was ok…. but he the rest never had the many skills I'd admired. I'm glad the WTs have stayed out of it. Xmen and Superheros are general for nerds. However the Phantom is the real deal. He's a real man (dressed in purple tights) that lives in the jungle, with no super powers. He's just worn an oath to rid the world pirates . Along the way, he's raised a family and befriended Pygmy's.. That's so cool.

I understand, however who ever made that decision knows very little about rugby league fans. The sad part is, if the sales are low, some faceless corporate who knows nothing about Rugby League may conclude that Wolverine is not popular with fans, which most probably is not the case. Not realising it is just a marketing blunder, putting a Rugby League team in another's Rugby League team's colours.

How about every side for the whole 2015 season wear the jumper that they first wore the year they entered the comp? No home and away stripes, one guernsey for the whole year. Safe the parents a fortune
 
I still don't understand what these jerseys are for. Is it superhero douche bag weekend or something? I mean why are they doing this?

Women in league. Great concept, fully support it. Wear a pink jersey …....cool.

Men if league. Same thing. Wear the socks. Awesome

What does this super hero thing support? Have I missed something?
 
I only switched over to look at the score once during the match. Noticing some odd jerseys in the background did not trigger too much thought as the plethora of designs is ever increasing.

However, reading this thread and learning my thoughts on which team was which was the opposite, surprised me. It as now gone past the stage of being ridiculous, and time for the NRL to do something about it. Marketers talk about "the brand", yet how are we supposed to recognise it when designs and even colours are constantly changing.

Looking around at our matches, a smorgasbord of jerseys is on show and we are only in our fifteenth year. Enough already!

Think of the Children…why oh why doesn't anyone think of the Children..

Seriously though...it is aimed at the kids....a demographic that has serious pulling power when it comes to Parents spending...I want one!!!

and **Julie Newmar as Catwoman.** :wink: she looked great in that out fit. :smiley:
