If the latter, it's ludicrous as they'll be training, playing and showering together. If the former, it's a predictable issue given his past history and he should have been granted an exception to have someone with him who was also in the bubble.

Who'd have thought hanging a towel on a rail would have him hung out to dry.

Some are alone or some are mothers with 1 or 2 of their kids with them. Benji is there with his wife and kids because he was out of the bubble for his child’s birth.

Yeah it is a pretty tough Quarantine, it was meant to be fairly relaxed but the QLD government changed the requirements 3 times on them including the day before they flew out and then again on the day after they arrived.

with backflips like that it's no wonder they won the Olympics.

seriously the guy went on the balcony.

hope we win 10 in a row

They were all sent detailed instructions and gaffer tape to tape up the doors so no one could open them

wow now we know how to beat COVID, duct tape the doors....

Duct tape really can fix everything hahahahahahaha

Just as a side note , there’s no way on earth qld government would kick out the NRL . For starters it would basically be career suicide . And secondly , any chance of ever hosting a grand final or things like magic round , the all stars game etc . And say what you will those things cause a huge money injection when they’re on.
Especially with the amount of money the state is about to bleed on olympics infrastructure in the next 10 years .

Qld government has offered the nrl 20mill to host the final series

The Premier will over ride Dr Jeannette Young, if it means hosting the NRL finals.

Those QLD sub-premier pollies are like barking dogs on a leash, just waiting to have a go, get their moment in the national sun. The deputy Steven Miles is a weirdo. It's like watching a murder of Sir Johs.

Come on Jirskyr, you're better than that. It's not like that at all. They are desperate to keep QLD Covid free. They get flogged by all land sundry outside of QLD for being so strict with their Covid policy, but up until now, their policies have worked very well in terms of achieving that Covid free goal. Yes, we lock down quickly & yes we wear masks because we follow the advice. If you appreciate your football, maybe thank the pollies for the policies that have allowed the game to carry on. Don't get me wrong - they are a weird bunch, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the game is only still going because of QLD govt. policies. What really annoyed the Health officer prior to this incident, were the multiple breaches of the rules in place. the latest of which was people handing stuff to each other around balcony walls - in effect, breaking quarantine. That's why balconies were considered to be out of bounds.

No. They push the boundaries. They're told to stay inside so bloody well stay inside. This is the kind of crap that ends up ruining things for everyone.

Push the boundaries, the government moved the boundaries on them and closing the balconies was a joke. All it was, was a public relations exercise.

Rules are rules ...laws are laws

I don't understand why people get so torn up about them

Next thing players will start complaining the throwing passes 5 metres forward should be OK as well because it's only 5 metres

I must admit duct tape seems overboard ...but as we have seen people are so disrespectful ...to the people complaining lets put it another way ...I come to your house and you tell me not to let your dog into the house ...and i let your dog into the house and it breaks something valuable ...your gonna be pissed ...right

Jimmy always seems to catch the ire of the press, but everytime I have seen him interviewed I see nothing but a nice if not shy/reserved young man. He doesn't deserve the amount of crap he gets from all onlookers, hope the club puts an arm around the bloke.

A bad decision here or an over reaction could cause Jimmy more than a few problems. In the greater scheme of things he broke a rule but only just broke it. It needs to be dealt with fairly and reasonably. No over reaction by a Public Servant or dubious Premier.

Honestly rusty , do you think the government really do anything for the people , as in that’s thier primary goal ? I’m not anti establishment , but none of those politicians do anything that’s not to benefit themselves or prop themselves up in Some way. Any benefit to society is mere coincidence , or good fortune .
If the queensland people didn’t have the “build the wall” attitude towards covid , there’s no way that the current restrictions they have would be in place .
Everyone was praising Boris for the way she handled covid up until 5 weeks ago , and now she’s the worst because she locked us all down for a month . It’s all a game to keep those people in thier job . And to say otherwise is naive or simply neglecting the truth IMO.

That analogy makes no sense Happy sorry . If the government are notified of said persons previous mental health issues , and are given a management plan that works within their exisiting guidelines , which from the messaging is the case , then choose to ignore those potential risks . Really don’t have a leg to stand on when the person with mental health issues , has mental health issues in lock down .

Here’s a better analogy . When you do a JSA/ start card . And you find hazards , do you not put protections in place for those hazards? Or do you ignore those hazards , and deal with the consequences once an event happens ?

Different people feel pressure in many various ways which then goes on to effect their mental health badly.
Simone Biles the USA gymnastics superstar withdrew from her Olympic Games events today due to the pressure of having to perform at the top level constantly.
JTJ opted to sign on for Wests Tigers at a smaller $$$ amount than he would normally be entitled as he felt this would ease some of the pressure on him to perform at the high level he has in the past.

Roberts suspended for 1 game and $7,500. Unbelievably unfair. The NRL suck.

🤦‍♂️

I'm just waiting for the scientific advice to be presented, that COVID is highly transmissible for domestic residents via hotel balconies.

I'm in Sydney lockdown right now, as strict as anything NSW has ever had, but I can walk any street outdoors within 10 km. They've only locked down one apartment block in the entire city.

If I'm not mistaken, if JTJ actually has COVID, he's more risk to his team mates and the general hotel by his interaction with hotel staff, opened room door for room service, use of gym (which he is permitted), rather than walking out onto his balcony.

So I understand the rules are in place, OK, and Jet got in trouble for breaking those rules and has now been suspended. OK. But then to translate that to a warning to "kick the NRL out of the state". Laughable. Laughable they'd do it even on a financial-political level, let alone in response to someone undoing duct tape on a screen door.

Here's a question - why not lock the screen doors, or hire a hotel that has lockable balcony doors?

Every game they are promoting the NRLs connection to mental health programs and they go and do this. Clearly it’s all rubbish.

As someone who has their own mental health issues in the past this just shows me they have no understanding at all
