Talau looks a lump of a 5/8 or backrower!
@ said:Big 5/8\. Second row forwards are easily located, but big ball playing 5/8s who can defence are not.
@ said:Anyone able to comment on the ability of our Schoolboys development players? Madden, Talau and Cini.
On face value seems a good crop of signings, based on reputation, but I haven't seen the kids play yet.
@ said:1sts, ISP or Flegg only Cini is mentioned.

Having just watched the first game of the schoolboys I must admit to being a tad disappointed with how our young boys played. No one was poor, but there were some real standouts but our boys were largely invisible.
Cini scoring 4 is of course great, but they were ones where he could stroll across the line unopposed, so we couldn't really see what he has to offer.
Madden's goal kicking was good but it was mainly the hooker, fullback and right centre that ripped them to shreds. Not sure our boys made a single break in a 90 point thrashing.

Wests Tigers young guns Jock Madden, Tommy Talau and Zac Cini were the standouts of that game. We have a lot of young players coming through which is a good thing but we need to give them a chance at top grade. I know thay are schoolboys but soon they will need to know what top grade is like

Lealuga-Puhotau has signed a new three-year deal that sees him move in to the club’s Development Squad effective immediately in 2019 through to 2020 before joining the extended NRL squad on a full-time basis in 2021.
A Wests junior who played his junior representative football with the Balmain Tigers, Lealuga-Puhotau trained full-time with the NRL squad throughout the pre-season — impressing Coach Michael Maguire with his development and work ethic.
“It’s great to have Henry step up now in to our Development Squad,” Maguire said.
“He has worked really hard during the pre-season, and we’re looking forward to seeing him take the next steps in his career with us at Wests Tigers."
Still only 18 years old, Lealuga-Puhotau will feature in the [club’s Jersey Flegg team against the Bulldogs] this Sunday alongside the club’s four other Development Players in 2019 — Jock Madden, Tommy Talau, Alex Seyfarth and Kane Bradley.
