So Jock is our 28th player, 28 was required today? Is this correct?

He was already in our top 30. The resigning is for 2022.

I always ask the question will a player talked about take the team to the next level ..Imo here No !

I think it’s early for him. He didn’t look terrible. His defense held up very well which is normally the 1st sign a half will crumble. Give him time I think he has alot of improvement yet and NRL might not be far from his reach.

Has to work on his passing game. First time I've seen Jock play live, he's competitive and he does a good job engaging the line, but he hasn't got a smooth pass off either side that I saw - fairly clunky. But knows to give early ball which is good. Defence was fine.

Work in progress IMO

I don’t think he’ll be a flashy halfback but a real workmans one. Let’s his partner do all the flashy stuff and he steers the ship kinda halfback

Kevin Hastings certainly doesn't look like being with club this year and the club has a real shortage of back-up halfbacks. That's enough reason why Madden should be encouraged to stay with the club. He is still young and I think that with the right mentoring and encouragement he will improve over time.

Apparently Kev is working as a PT in the US and is pretty fit, but not the man for us.

I agree with this, he's willing but his passing game isn't where it needs to be IMO. If he can fix that up he's got some FG in him.

Great potential, really liked what I have seen so far.

Well done Tigers in locking Jock up.

Ps. Memo to all, Hastings no longer required.

Ah Kevin, Jackson Hastings dad.

Hey Jackson Hastings,Jock Madden there will be an injury to our Halves at some time and if you guys perform then Adam Doulieni can move to center(or wherever, or push Brooks out). Its up to you.

Oh, OK. We still need to fill spot 28 by end of yesterday, don't we?

I'm just catching up with the latest from the WT website and I noticed Jock Madden was the special guest of Justin Pascoe in "Ask the Boss" to announce his contract extension. Good on him. I hope it turns out well for both Jock and the club.

My regular meeting place for pre-LO games is the Orange Grove Hotel, a short walk from Mary St and the enrance to LO.

I was a bit surprised to see Justin Pascoe there having some beers at 1.40pm on Sunday (prior to the Manly NRL Trial) when games at LO had been going since 9.45am?

I would have thought a "boss" might have actually been at the ground, leading and doing "boss" things?

Sure, maybe he had been at LO for hours and just left for a quenching ale and lunch at the Orange Grove pub?

Entirely feasible. Appropriate? That's another thing

Probably wanted a real beer in a glass

Or with sponsors, or corporate guests....or any reason. Keep grinding.
