Yeah I would like to see something like that. And then when AD comes back I’d reevaluate where he slides in based on cohesion etc of the team.

I like this idea however I'd consider Brooks at fullback as well. He tries hard, he is quick, he puts in some good kicks and he can tackle but he is robotic in the halves. I don't think he can remain in the halves especially with us having 3 other players as good options in the halves.

I still want to see Hastings and Doueihi as our halves. Those two would score us more points.
 
Jock had a fair game he wasnt outstanding tough break at the end, he should have just tapped it into touch. Woulda coulda shoulda. Between him and out 900k halfback there is a cigarette paper Books is playing like he doesnt want to be here. He needs to move on for himself and we need that separation as well, its like we are in an abusive relationship. I would keep Jock and let Luke go but easier said than done.
 
I hope Madge puts Hastings at 13 on his return, leaving Brooks and Madden in the halves. If Hastings wants to get his hands on the ball he can still do that which will push our halves out another pass off the ruck.
If Madden is playing for a contract, at least give him that opportunity.
 
I would not get too excited - he killed a few plays last night by going in the wrong direction.

But his kicking game alone should see him ahead of Brooks.

His kicking game is already better than Brooks it could be argued. Was so good to see one of our halves kick from 40 to 50 out and get it to sit in the in goal. Can’t remember when we last had that. Plus he’s eager and wants the ball and attacks the line. He plays direct and engages the defence

They are playing at about the same level. He ran it when he shouldn't have and put in a dud kick or two. Brooks does that every week as well. I can't split their performances at the moment.

I'd be inclined to move Brooks though. I just think he has proven he isn't the right guy to be the focal point of our attack and maybe be can play a different role. He has a lot of skills. He just isn't the most creative or clutch type player and it's not working.

He has been good. His defense has also been good. His kicking game appears to be more complete than Brooks. He has a better long and short kicking game. Brooks does a better attacking kick to Ken M's wing. Maybe Madden just needs to work on that kick more in practice.

He bombed some chances last night though. Same as Brooks. Our halves aren't performing but our hooker and fullback have been worse. Our middle forwards have too many passengers as well.

We have to keep Madden though. He is a rookie and he is performing well.

I know this sounds harsh, but so far Madden has only shown he knows how to lose a game not win one. He needs time, particularly now to see if he has it in him to balance the ledger. Brooks will cost us too much to move on, so our best option is counseling to get him to enjoy his footy. They’ve started relieving him of some responsibilities, his halves partners are doing more kicking etc. surely he must realise that if his form drops off his price tag and attraction from other clubs will also diminish.
 
I feel like we're more of an attacking threat with Jock having ball in hand. Pass timing,deft kicking...

Brooks I expect pedestrian and a fizzled attacking raid. It's a shame,because I think he's
better elsewhere.

I'd like to see Madden,Douehi and Hastings given a good run without brooks.
