Its definitely NOT ok for Madden to drop that final ball...he had one job to do at the end...
it was a rookie error that wld be called out in u/12s..
.but so far its a one off which Madden will hopefully learn from ,and not a repeating pattern like Brooks' various shortcomings over many years
The other difference between Brooks and Madden..apart from 200 NRL games or so..is about $800kpa so its not unreasonable to have much higher expecations for Brooks
..which he consistently underachieves/fails
WTs wont ever get" fixed" until these weakest links exit..Brooks and Laurie...and we use that $$ to identify players who meet/exceed expectations
Its a business...not a loyalty rewards program

An u12 probably wouldn't have been in position to catch that ball. The fact is, the last few seconds was like a shooting gallery and we shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.
Lets stop changing the oars and start rowing. We're starting to up anchor and move.
Why can't people see that.
We have made changes and we will get more signings but lets try to keep the boat steady.

Were dead stone motherless last...with no wins,and none likely in the next month with our draw.
To use your analogy,the SS Titanic needs a major change in course or were gonna lose more than just our barnacles ...!
Things just cant stay as they are,and we need to start planning accordingly

No way Brooks is on 1.1 million it increases every week
So let's say he was on 1.1 million what do you think Newcastle would pay him 600k and we pay 500k for him to play somewhere else no way
Brooks would be on 800k or 850k let's say Newcastle as an example agree to pay 400k wests tiger still chip in 400k so Madden then becomes 250k plus the 400k for Brooks so 650k for a 7 game rookie
I don't think Brooks will go anywhere in 2023 again let us all see what happens when we have Hastings Madden and Brooks in the team hopefully next week

Argh, I've been in a leaky boat bleeding with sharks swimming around it, nothing worth stressing about.

Not true. We have money in the cap. It's a non issue. Plus the figure increases every time a new story comes out.

The issue is should Brooks be in the halves and the assumption is we pay him according to the value he offers us on the field.

Personally I think it's time to try a new halves combination and Brooks fits in elsewhere or he plays reserves. I'm not the coach though. I expect the coach to somehow get the team performing better. I think sorting out our spine is critical because I view our spine as being terrible.

Yep, sounds about right. I think we maybe carrying over some part of our cap aren't we.
Some in the know might correct me, I think we can carry over something like 10%

I’m ok with the club not re-signing Madden and Laurie.
Madden is probably 3 seasons away from being nrl ready. And Laurie is playing like he doesn’t want a contract. Momirovski didn’t want to go, and would have been a better choice.

Madden already seems like Noffa. Had three average 1st grade games and thinks he’s all that.

Bags, in a club that has a reputation for turning average players into poor players, I think recruitment needs to recruit with a different player profile. More focus on strength of character than skill. Players who have proven they are not going to buckle under pressure. Players who have an obsession for winning.
