I had high hopes. Started well, but fell off badly

People need to understand he is still a young bloke with a lot to learn. Forwards like him don’t hit their peak until their late 20s and are burnt out by their mid 30s. The effort is there, he just needs some more time to grow as a player and with his fellow teammates.

7 years in grade .....120 odd NRL games ...played SOO ......26 years old .......not saying he can't improve .....but that's a lot of experiences .....you speak to Sheens ,Bennett , Bellamy ...Robinson ...players should be pretty well right at 50 games ....

Joe is a prop forward and needs to be used as one. That’s the issue with his form playing wide and moving around. Dummy half service and getting our pack on the front foot was substandard.

Thought big Joe showed a lot of enthusiasm at times when other were going through the motions. Okay made a few errors and missed a few tackles, but there was effort and that was not the case with a few others. In racing terms…he will be better for the run

That’s what saw as well. Almost seemed to try too hard at times to turn the match and led to him giving away the penalty.

Obviously wasn't the one to turn our pack around, but can certainly help do that with a slightly better pack around him. Fingers crossed.
