Joe Ofahengaue #240

We might get a monetary sum for the release of the muppet, Lee did say we wont release unless its commercially viable i think the term was. So that doesnt mean a player from Manly could mean Joe O and some cash to us or many things in-between we may never know about. Unless @THE_POM tells us otherwise.

Let’s hope the big O lifts his game next year because he was dead set rubbish this year

he had Fifita and Haas getting most of the carries and his wife was also battling cancer so that's one way he's performance could have been effected.

Been carried by a very good pack ...we wll find out the hard way ...again

There pack was ordinary apart from Haas.
Offa on his day can outplay any forward. Big motor too..like the pick ip alot.

Look back since he has started ...Thaiday ...Gillett ...Fifita .....Jaydn Sua ...Essesse......Arrow ...ordinary ....lol

It's quality right. I don't know. I'm not sold on this signing. I hope it works out for us.

People are going to expect his signing as a pack leader like Josh was in 2020 ......he isn't that man ....sorry ...If Aloiai was a qlder he would of got chosen ahead of Joe O in 2019

Aloiai led us up the middle last year. LL is probably a better player but he is an edge forward. I don't know about Joe O. I haven't seen enough of him. Manly offered Aloiai a lot of money because he is good.

POM said in another thread that we don't get another player but .... (it will be a cash remuneration) as well as saving the 350k and a spot in the 30.

I mean he made origin in 2019 where he played really well. He’s shown he can play at that level - the big question is can he get back to that under Madge. It’s a risky signing

Daily Telegraph "Tigers’ Bronco coup to seal Aloiai’s fate. Wests Tigers may have finally resolved the saga with forward Josh Aloiai, after securing a former State of Origin enforcer."

Every signing has an element of risk.

Of course, but his is riskier than others because he was so down on form this year. If that continues it won’t be a good signing.

Suli was down on form when he left Wests Tigers and Bulldogs bt he really turned it around with Manly.

Tamou - bit of a plodder but lead his team to MP
Liddle / Simpkin - exciting futures
Joe O - look at his last 6 games in 2020 - big metres - average 120m
Blore - fingers crossed he brings the boom
Luciano - X factor and big 2020
Twal - early season form was stellar before injury

I have depth as a concern, Musgrove could be an improver. Last chance saloon for Mikaele and Garner. Hopeful but not expecting Stefano to be ready. Then there’s Fudgy.

I want to see Ofahengaue flatten Aloiai
A bit like a packer on Matterson hit
Then I will be happy

Please don’t smack me down for this post but imagine if, just maybe, Packer regains his mojo. Very intimidating pack.
Dare to dream eh😏

can he play lock
it means we may have more depth in front row tamau, Musgrave, Twal, Stefano, Packer, Mikaele

Just going on his 2020 stats he was most productive at prop late in the year.

we are covered for front row then probably a tamau Joe O front row very good with Musgrove Parker Mikaele Stefano very solid
would love that second rower / lock and put Twal in front row rotation.
Maybe Liddle / Simpkin can come on and play some 13 like Grant does

Could be a plan to get Talau in there with all our centres?

It could happen not saying it can’t. Just saying it’d a riskier signing than most
