Joel Reddy

It all depends on what we paid for him. Utai turned out to be the buy of the season since he was picked up on match payments.

Who cares if he is average if we only paid $50k. We can't have world beaters everywhere. I'd say Ayshford is moving to the 2nd row (right weight, good defender and breaks the line) and we will have Simona and Reddy to cover right center, Ayshford could move back if needed too (if he doesn't put on too many kgs).

Not an exciting signing, but ok by me. I can see the reasons. I just hate that he is an eel.

Those of you who reckon Reddy is an "ordinary" first grader should really think about that…

Not everyone in Melbs team are superstars, and some need to be there just "for the numbers"...

That being said, Reddy got picked in City/Country! If he's replacing Moltz or Beau, or Mitch, or Utai then we're in a MUCH better situation than without him. Because damn straight he's better than ANY one of those blokes... you guys are on crack if you think our current crop have anything on this guy...

We need a SOLID defender who has good handling skills (2011 4 out of 6 games he had 0 errors), fair bit of pace, and the ability to drop to fullback and slot on the wing - it's a no-brainer this guy's a smart buy for the club!

This is our man - and we'll get him on the cheap cos of his injury!

P.S. hammertime - ayshford a good defender? 44 missed tackles this season... (and turnstyle Lui is on 56)

Reddy is well worth a gamble. Really solid defender and an utter professional.

Something we need

I definitely agree his defence alone would make him a worthwhile gamble. I think he could flourish at the tigers.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but on BSB this morning, some guy rang up and said we are about to sign none other than Luke Lewis and Todd Carney, yes it was a guy off the street and he didnt name a source other than that it was a tigers insider.

Lewis would be great if we could get him and im guessing carney would play half back.

But i wont be getting my hopes up

then if thats the case you should have asked yourself if the rumor was worth repeating considering the guy had 'zero cerdibility'

x2.

Oh wait, the voice inside my head is tell me that we have signed Cam Smith, Billy Slater, Todd Carney, Sam Thaiday, Paul Gallen and Sterlo is coming out of retirement and lacing up his boots for us.

Just thought I'd share it, despite zero credibility, just to disrupt the club further.

Look I understand alot of us are frustrated at the constant speculation with no concrete infor but no need to bit the poster head off.

He or she just heard the rumour and posted it.

After all it is a discussion forum so just a little bit of mutual respect please

If we paid the right dosh this possible signing of reddy reminds me alot of the patty richards signing.big fella good speed.I'm happy.
People are posting I would rather a jnr but too many jr's won't work.u need solid consistent first graders around the young fellas.as discussed by another user u can't have stars in every position.tigers have learnt from this yrs salary cap bungle.

Could we be trading Heignington and Ryan for Lewis? I would be very surprised if the Panthers would agree to release Lewis and I would have thought he would have preferred to be a one team player. Bur Sheens likes the odd veteran like Beutner and Sattler.

I would be very surprised if true - but I am not prepared to rule anything out. I can't believe that all this is happening just to upgrade junior contracts and suspect that we are building a new team behind the scenes.
