Joey Leilua #226

Refreshing to see the bloke admit his faults on and off the field, he's definitely in for an exceptional season whilst there is a contract offer extension come end of the year.

Still can't believe a professional athlete in a team environment with all the medical support in the world was allowed to be unhealthy like this.

I understand it was difficult with COVID and lack of family etc but this isn't acceptable.

If I was on the staff, I would be looking at ways to make sure this doesn't happen again. Put in montly objective measures and hold people accountable objectively. No point in saying "it's unacceptable" if you don't do antything about it. If not BJ, it might be another player this year.

Munster basically bendered for 4 days straight after the grand final win and then murdered NSW only a couple days later. Some players can do it ??

For how long though? Joey Johns did it for a career but he's an Immortal.

It will catch up with Munster sooner rather than later.

Have you read Joey’s book? More than what is commonly believed in regards to that.

Fair enough if he just sat around playing Xbox and eating burgers - that's consistent. But to eat crap on a daily basis then turn up for training and punish yourself? I don't get it. It's like some of those footballers who turn up to training drunk or hungover. Man how do you get through a day's elite training after doing that to yourself?

And maybe there is a perception that as long as he was working hard at training, he can get away eating burgers for food. I get that optimally it isn’t the best choice but sometimes life takes over and it’s very hard to step away from the now with a view to the future.

Munster looks like a Bacardi Breezer kind of ponce. The poxy mo' tops it off.

?
He just needs the cream bun and he’d look like the Hapster.

Fixed.

End of 2017/start of 2018 Joey was super unfit and playing average footy, ended up dropping the weight playing every game for Canberra in 2018, scoring 14 tries for the season and winning dally m centre of the year. Hopefully that repeats itself with us

How was his 2019. He played every game. Flick pass to get the Raiders into the big dance but then subsequently a misread in the final apparently cost them. Was he at his peak though like 2018?

He was pretty good in 2019 when he played but was out a while with an injury To his neck or back

He was pretty good in '16. Him and Rapana were unstoppable, I don't want to remember Joey's freak flick-pass for a try that set the rot in on that horrible last Sunday of the season at Leichhardt when we got butchered by 50-odd points.

Ahh that’s right. Was that the year they already had Curtis Scott or was it the year Cotric played a lot of centre?

Curtis Scott replaced Joey. They never played together.

How is excited is everyone? We basically have two of the best centres in the comp and both are happy to be here and to do their best for the club. I’m excited ? ???

...and one of the best wingers on 1 wing. If we had landed JAC, we would easily have had the best centre/wings in the comp.

I'm starting to think we might have one of the best 2nd rowers also.

Sounds like he wasn’t in a good head space - like most of the world last year.

This year he’s got his family around him which makes a world of difference. Him and his brother on the same side - wow!

I like BJ especially because he is a player people are afraid to tackle because you don’t know how he will react. Sure he’s a hot head, but I wouldn’t want to mark him.

Oporto’s is the healthier option.

But a pro football player needs 4000 calories a day ..
Maybe joeys not being totally honest ?
