He's dead set hopeless. Anyone, and I mean anyone, would be better than Joey. He's an oxygen thief.

I’m available

I used to regularly make state athletics in high school
Mid 20s
I hate my job
Prefer kfc over oportos

Do I pass?

Yeah mate,a cloths store manaquin would do a better job than BJ did today...I have a mate that used to play centre with me back in the day,if I get him out of the retirement home and stick him in the BJs spot,he would have far better stats...:face_with_rolling_eyes:

His bro ain’t much better. The forum criminally overrates him.

LL was bad today, they targetted him early in defence. Laterally he is terrible

He was great last year though. There are plenty more that need the finger pointed at them than LL at this point in time.

He was pretty good last week as well. I wouldnt drop LL at this stage but I was watching him closely yesterday. A lot of the criticism regarding our left edge has been (rightly) focused on Joey but for the first 20mins the Roosters were targeting LL and they tore up. They were actually redirecting their attack at LL and having a runner just outside him and he had missed about 5 tackles after about 15mins. Both LL and Joey could only tackle if they hit them.

I have said this before. Those of us old enough can remember two great second rows for the Magpies. One in the 70's and one in the 80's. Johnny Elford and Bob Cooper. Both were centres who switched to second row.

Move Joey to second row coming off the bench. That way centre is covered if there is an injury. Put Tommy in the centre full time

Maybe the swap over from right to left has been detrimental to Joey,he seemed to play better inside Noffa and seemed to build some cohesion with him last year...
I have been seething since the game yesterday and Madge has some work to do in regards to getting a winning formula together with this mob...
In fairness it is only rnd 2,and some of our blokes are still getting used to NRL and Madges system, however, they are professional players and should be able to get the BASICS right quickly or we will have a very long disappointing season...

Worth a try before he is dropped long term... Before he come here he was one of the games best attacking weapons and killed us every time he played us but now the other team are licking there lips at facing him. Not sure if it has anything to do with his injury but I like Talau in there over him.

There is only one good thing to come from your team being smacked the first two games of the season, and that is it is clear that changes need to be made quickly before the season gets away from you. If Madge does not drop BJ, then he has blinkers on. Mbye to left centre, Musgrove in for ....one of the inept performing forwards, and hopefully Roberts back in.

Sorry, I had to change channels in the second half, but I can't remember one forward getting an offload. Did I miss one??

In the second half Twal hit the ball up close to the line, he had 2 players on him and his arms were clear. Laurie was there in support but he made no attempt to offload.

I thought the exact same thing at the time.

Let’s call a spade a spade. Twal is a deadset plodder. But I’ve been saying for 2 seasons now, he just needs to add an offload to his game and that changes everything.

I don't think Twal is a plodder, I think he is a Prop, maybe when Blore come back he could play lock.

Is it coincidental that we won quiet easily and defended well against manly and didnt have Joey playing? Should be a sign that Joey is just not up to standard anymore. I get people will say manly were under strength but still we looked like a solid unit in that game. Since Joey has been back our defence has been below average. He makes stupid plays that cost us then the whole team feel the need to keep an eye on his side of the field and forget we have a middle to defend and another edge. Also the team get disheartened when he is lacking in defence. It's not just Joe's fault there's 13 players on the field but if I was having a crack and one of my team mates where dogging it I'd lose hope also!!

Can we swap BJ for Momo back now please?

This comment keeps coming up
We got Daine Laurie a year early as we swapped with Momo.

Who do you prefer?

The comment is more tongue in cheek

I’m very happy with Laurie

I just don’t want BJ anywhere near the side.

Surely Penrith would have taken BJ for Laurie. He is a superstar.

There is a reason no-one else was interested when Canberra were trying to offload him. At the moment you couldn't swap him for an Oporto meal deal

Haha, the other 15 clubs were probably laughing when we signed him.

Hey.............just putting it out there; Daine Laurie is our best buy since Garteth Ellis.................and sadly that's not saying much.

I thought I heard somewhere that Twal was working on an off load in the off season.

I can't understand why we haven't seen it yet when there have been opportunities but it just hasn't happened.

Twal is not a lock, that is another problem area

I'm hoping with a lot of dead weight again getting the flick at the end of this year one player we'll pick up is Billy Magoulias to be our lock.

There is no way in the world that Joey and Lucy should be on the same side, left, right or even same team.

If Joey's not in New South Wales cup next week I'll completely lose it.

Lucy is a poor defender aswell. Having his brother near him just compounds the issue. Blaming Joey for his bro’s defence is ludicrous imo.
As a back rower he should of lead the line speed of the backline to shut keary down.
