Used to work for me when I took Melbourne Cup day off every year when I was working 😉

True but that's on the organisation. I can understand why they got Klemmar, we had no forward leader. Bateman for two years I could of lived with. Not 4.

No idea why Sullivan was offered any contract. He's no organiser, he's small and struggles in defence and he hadn't done anything before we got him. Packer, Blair, Bateman. I think Sullivan was the worst of the lot. 500k for a backup that lost every game he played in.

Been already said- a panic signing by the prev admin trying to nullify bad press over Brooks leaving. They had no idea about Luai, nor prepared to bide time. Amatuers. Similarly signing of Bateman was wanting a 'big name'

A contract was one thing. 4 years was another. Did absolutely nothing to warrant that length of contract.
 
Regardless of someone taking his contract off the Tigers hands, Bateman would have to be paid out at this point. If the stories of the RLPA having to step in regarding his date of return, the stand off with Benji etc have any truth to them, I don't see how he can be part of the playing group.

I think it's a shame because I thoroughly believe, if everyone played nice, that he has a significant role to play. There's not too many upgrades to Bateman available for 2025.
 
I honestly hope that there is some truce between the club & Bateman.

The Tigers need that hard edge that none of the others seem capable of displaying.

Bateman needs to stay in his lane, be a good company man, and do what he's employed to do. In return, I think the club needs to do right by him as well.

Fault on both sides. If he can be a tenacious defender & line runner out wide, we don't have a better option available.

Unless it's changed again the rlpa rules are 7 weeks for players who have completed 4 or less preseasons and 9 weeks for 5 or more.

Stinks of an easy out at the top to me....
We know we didn't go as well as we'd hoped this year
BUT we had a percentage of our cap playing at other clubs.
- To get the Roster we needed and give our local kids a chance yadda yadda....

Rinse and repeat for the next 3-4 years....

100% agreed.

The whole "Starts in February" BS last year was wrong.
But to play in england till Dec 28 is fine.

Hopefully hell have a new contract in the new year.
