John Bateman #268

That's true,

Probably will have a simple brief at NQ.

Think last year he and Api discovered that everyone has their limits.

Would've made benji think when Bennett and Todd were after him.

The edges remain a problem.

Agree with you on all of the above. I wanted him 2
stay as you probably already know but they couldn't
hash it out. To your point, he looked very frustrated
at times last year & acted out on and off the field
unfortunately. Api internalised everything poor bastard
lmao. We have a bigger supporting cast now, his loss

Question now is who will perform his role.

Centres have no depth .

Bateman and IP were ridiculously criticized for their performances. For the most part they averaged 35 plus tackles per game, playing for 80 and then because their ball work was not dynamic - manifested by a whole lot of other weaknesses in the squad - they were consistently bagged. Few can be dynamic witn ball and carry the defensive load that was demanded by them week in week out. And when they were both out didn't we pay defensively.
Both appeared to want out getting smashed every week and getting bagged for it is not everyone's go. Both will hold their own at their new clubs imo.

I have been defending them for a long time now. Theyll be missed in 25 and could be the barrier that holds back this squad from finals.

IP will go good, dunno about Bateman though if you saw him for warrington he didn't impress. He's too small for a backrower now imo

Cowboys have bought a cultural deadweight. If they think he’s going to mentor young players they are kidding himself. Gone are the days when nrl players were lacking intelligence - the best players nowadays are smart, have self control, discipline etc
