John Grant

Watch the highlights of BRET v Vulcans on the NSWRL website it's not much but it does give a little insight as to how he is going (mainly defence) and it's not great so i actually think he would let us down.

Don't know about Moga Smeg. By the sounds of it whatever hype surrounds him sounds justified. If i'm not mistaken he's struggled with injury this yr. But I will agree with CB on Mullaney. I thought Mullaney had that title for a couple yrs, till John Grant came out of the woodwork. The wonders youtube can do for you in this day and age

Have any of you naggers and armchair champs ever laced a boot on and played a game of league? The guy has played what a handful of games in a new sport. All the hype and ridiculous expectations on the bloke are generated by these comments. It will take him time to read the game, play and patterns. Your centre also has a lot to do with a wingers defence. The guy is an athlete, it will come. Perhaps fullback where he has room to wind up, and see some space maybe what he needs, or get him running the kick returns.

Lol Coedi was another one. I'll admit i myself got caught up in his hype as well after seeing him score a couple 100m tries in NYC

John Grant??
Meh ..we may as well have a thread about snails, interest value would be on a par

I understand the Grant doubts completely, but pah-lease. He won't go any worse on the wing than Utai and Tuqiri.

So there's really nothing to lose really.

If ANYONE could learn how to play first-grade league within the space of a year it would be a miracle. It amazes me that even average players in the league know the calls and know exactly what do to do and where to be. They make it look easy but there is SO much organisation involved in those key plays, especially plays involving backs. Give the kid a break, we all know he has a lot of potential, but no one said he was superman

This drives me insane.

The guy came from Rugby… not ping pong.

I know what he has to work on, played both (and ping pong), but it wouldn't take a bloke like Grant that long.

Another recruitment mystery. We let Andrew Everingham go and sign this bloke.

Not a fan?? I reckon he is very talented.

Ill be honest, i never saw Everingham's success coming, so I cant be too critical, I got that one wrong.

What's Moltzen's excuse then?
