JOIN WESTS TIGERS IN THE 'BATTLE OF THE WEST'

Saw numbers in yesterdays or todays paper…as at 17th we were only better than cronulla and Titans iirc

yeah but are all those rabbitohs, dragons, bulldogs members fully ticketed? from memory you could get membership for a pittance and they send you a bumper sticker and lollypop for clubs like that and they would class that as membership.

Is a one game membership much better?

Who knows maybe they have got their numbers wrong,

In my family we have 3 Ultamate memberships for the diehards,
and 2 stripes packages for the kids that are not that interested in footy.

Last week my son received his second members kit for his Ultimate package and yesterday I received a reminder to sign up.

Their numbers cuold be way off the mark..

Yeh it must be wrong…or maybe an oversight.

Spoke to the Office last week and they said we will probably finish up somewhere around 8500-9000
Not alot when you look at other clubs like the Rabbits who are over 12000-13000!!
If only we had as many members as we do Facebook fans…. Oh, We're a fickle bunch!!

Souffs get heaps because Crowe gives them away to his hollywood bffs for a bit of publicity.

The Broncos, Roosters, Storm and Wests Tigers have registered their first wins of the 2012 Telstra Premiership season today, taking out the annual Membership Premiership race which saw more than 27,000 new fans join their favourite NRL Clubs in the past 20 days.

The Membership Premiership race pitted the 16 NRL Clubs against each other in four separate four-team battles to determine which club could sign up the most members from February 4-24.

The NRL today announced that a total of 27,239 Rugby League fans became new members during the Membership Premiership promotion, with 5000 signing in the last 24 hours as the battles intensified.

The Broncos signed the most new members overall (4017), to claim one of the four $10,000 prizes to assist each of the winning clubs with their membership programs. The winners are:

Battle of the Beaches (Roosters, Titans, Sharks, Sea Eagles)
GROUP TOTAL: 4,783
WINNER: Roosters 1,682

Battle of the Heavyweights (Dragons, Broncos, Rabbitohs, Knights)

Australian Rugby League Commission Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, congratulated all NRL Clubs on their efforts to get their fans on board for the 2012 season which kicks off next Thursday, March 1.

“There is a lot for our fans to be excited about this season so it great to see so many of them sign up to support their favourite clubs over the past three weeks,” Mr Gallop said.

“The excitement keeps building towards kick-off next week from the All Stars event earlier this month, to the Community Carnival which ended on Tuesday and reached over 115,000 children and our season launch on Wednesday.

“Today sees the extension of our advertising campaign as we take ‘Our House’ to the streets of Sydney with three major billboards and goalposts going up at Sydney Airport.

“I have no doubt the fans, players and everyone involved in the game can’t wait for this Thursday and the rugby league season to get underway for 2012.”

Broncos Chief Executive, Mr Paul White, said his club is proud at the way Brisbane fans got behind them to take out the Battle of the Heavyweights race.

“Taking on powerhouses like the Dragons, Knights and Rabbitohs is no easy task,” he said.

“But our fans have shown their excitement is peaking as we get ready for the kick-off of the 2012 NRL season.

“It will be a wonderful lift for the players to know the supporters are behind them in such a vibrant way.”

Roosters captain Braith Anasta said his club is “stoked” to have won the Battle of the Beaches ahead of the Titans, Sharks and Premiership-winning Sea Eagles.

“On behalf of everyone at the Sydney Roosters, thanks to ALL our members who have joined up so far,” Anasta said.

“We’re ‘all in all season’ - it’s not just the players but our members that make us one strong team.

“Sydney Roosters Members are really important to the club and membership is the best way for supporters to show their loyalty.”

It's official. Wests Tigers have the best Members in Sydney's west after winning the NRL 'Battle of the West' competition for the second consecutive year.

Wests Tigers beat Western Sydney counterparts Penrith Panthers, Parramatta Eels and Canterbury Bulldogs, in the race to sign up the most Members across the month of February, to claim the $10,000 prize-money from the NRL.

From February 4-24, Wests Tigers signed up 2004 new Members.

Wests Tigers Captain Robbie Farah said winning the 'Battle of the West' was a good start to the season for the Club.

“I've always said Members are more than just fans at Wests Tigers. They demonstrate a real commitment to our Club and support us through thick and thin,’’ Farah said.

“It is very inspiring for the players and we love playing in front of our loyal Members. I just want to thank all those supporters who are now Members but we need you to keep recruiting those fans who are not Members.

"The more we can get, the more successful and bigger this Club will become off the field.

"We are all set for an exciting season. Now bring on the footy."

Wests Tigers would also like to thank proud Wests Tigers Member Anthony Field for his work in helping the Club with its 'Battle of the West' Membership drive and the current 'Blow the Whistle' campaign.

Field recently blew the whistle on his good friend, Greg Page, forcing the Yellow Wiggle to finally become a proud Wests Tigers Member. Field and Page had great fun with Wests Tigers players Joel Reddy and Matthew Bell dressing up as cowboys.

2012 Membership numbers are well on track to surpass the 10,000 mark for the first time in the Club’s history.

It would be nice Ink but their is a wisdom from previous experience that not quantifying the numbers is an encouragement for people to join. Talk about the goal and not what is already achieved. Proven marketing ploy.

But yeah it would be good to know

If we finish higher than 3rd I would be very surprised. Especially with a large number of people vowing not to renew.

How are the "surprise" levels today Bug? I guess the number of people who decided to join, outweighed the large number of people who apparently vowed not to renew.
