Jordan Rankin - The Immortal

Would just like to personally congratulate the immortal winger Jordan Rankin on his justified selection today out there on the left wing.

His calm head and ability to read to play were astounding.

Every single one of his 51 meters in attack including being driven backwards were breathtaking.

His 2 tackles and 2 missed tackles made up and complemented one another perfectly.

His 2 errors including one at the death which helped Melbourne set up for a field goal were quality.

Not to mention his magnificent goal kicking ability.

Never before have I seen a winger of this quality play first grade Rugby League.

(At least Nofoaluma made up for a poor first half with a good second half). This bloke is garbage. If you guys still can't see it, you're blind. A momentum halter and just utter crap.

Agree , he's bog average at best .

Out of every player out there today you're going to single out Rankin?
After this thread and the way you carried on in the team announcement thread I am certain you have something personal against him.

I thought he was pretty good today, he did his job well. Wasn't spectacular but he was far from poor.

Sure there were others, but this bloke is consistently bad.

You have something personal FOR him

How on earth is 2 tackles + 2 MISSED tackles, 51 meters and 2 errors doing his job well? He was bad. Can't expect much more though from a state cup utility at best. Coaches fault for picking him.

Mind you, the Melbourne left winger made 277 meters in attack :roll

It means he didn't get much of an opportunity. Something you would realise if you actually watched the game.

Oh and for what it's worth, he made 6 tackles, not 2\. Stop fudging stats just to suit your agenda.
You did that in the team announcement thread when you said Rankin makes more errors than JAC - which was also false.

It was a poor decision to choose him over JAC but I don't think he is as bad as what is stated. I think it all comes down to JT and his defence no mistakes approach.

We need to realise that we are a good team and we need to attack.

Stats from fox sports.com.au

Watched the game. He had opportunity, he just isn't a first grade player, so either did nothing, got driven backwards or dropped the pill :deadhorse:

While i agree Rankin was poor today i disagree with the thread. Rankin simply cant be judged while playing on the wing. He's a 5/8 and Jason Taylor is ruining this guys chance of ever being a first grader.

How do u think Brooks or Moses would go on the wing? How do you think Corey Norman would go on the wing? How do u think James Maloney would go on the wing?

Its unfair to judge him when playing out of position. He's a guy who uses the ball to create space , not an athlete like JAC or Nofo.

Jordan is just one of a few that are premier league players in the team ATM and until this is rectified the team will not progress

If JAC wasn't disgraceful the past two weeks,he'd still be in the team.

That is in my opinion way too harsh. I would have picked him. Rankin isn't that bad and I don't want to crucify him but JAC offers a lot more.

I thought Teddy had two opportunities to pass to Rankin in the first half for a possible try, the first one was almost a certainty. That said, he's not a winger. I'd rather Heleta there, him and Nofo together would be machines out of our own end.

Well after this week Rankin will still be in the team because JAC has done the wrong thing by his supporters and left for the bright lights and tinsel of Melbourne.

We lost today without a hooker and only one real winger in the team, kind of puts you behind the 8 ball before the game even starts.

Bellamy is a professional he picked Kpro despite him signing with Union. Whilst there is a sniff of a top 8 spot the best team available that we are paying for must be picked.

Rankin not the right man simple.

Who do you pick if JAC has gone to Melbourne?
