Josh Aloiai #190

Josh needs to be making more hit-ups. Against the Dogs he made 26 meters from 3 runs. At 110kgs, I think he needs to put more runs and meters on the board. He's quick and tough which confuses me as to why he wouldn't be taking on more of an attacking load. Cleary played him off the bench on Sunday which I thought was a good move. But, he has a really powerful running game so why isn't he attacking more?

cleary doesnt like him hes hasnt played much at all since cleary has come to us
i guess he doesnt like young players

Moses Suli… 😕

I'm prepared to be patient. We put 70 games into Moses and I still shake my head at some of the things he comes up with. 21yo who's played 30 games,he'll make it

its not like we have any other centres to replace him
the fact he perfers edwards and lawrence over aloiai is a joke

No its not. Rowdy makes more metres per run than Josh and Edwards is a better defender (hits harder/misses less).

Cleary doesn't hate Josh. He has simply given him a role more suited to his experience.

I think it was more a case of strengthening our bench. Starting Edwards allowed us to bring on the bigger boys when the Dogs did so.

Mcqueen is a left backrower who will be positioned next too Brooks.

This means Lawrence either moves the the right side or the bench and will be competing wth Aloia

It's ok Geo, they like to read minds and make up stories on here - a lot!

I made a thread about his form last week and full credit to him he really stepped up tonight. He was probably our best forward tonight. The Cronulla pack was dominating us but he kept making meters and bending the line with every run.

Stats:

vs Bulldogs 18 tackles 3 runs 26 meters

vs Sharks 32 tackles 13 runs 121 meters

He's been very underwhelming this year before this game (verging on bad In several games - or parts of games) but massive improvement and good game from him tonight.

Was in full beast mode. At one point i said he's spent, he needs a rest, but he just kept going.

Cleary said many of the guys are kearning to play longer minutes, obviously Alioai is one of those. Tonight he proved he can push through and do that.

Was close to our best player. The coach was probably left with no choice but to increase his minutes once the injuries hit, but he really stood up.
They should give him an OPAL card so he can spend more time on the bus.
