Josh Aloiai #190

Kid looks the goods , and could well,be a great signing for the wests Tigers
Any one know how long we got him for
I think the guys we have purchased this season could be a master stroke , Josh will make the team from round 1 I think
Then we have Griffin , Edwards , Chee Kam , Billy , Ballin , Rankin ,Hunt
If this is the work of Jason Taylor I think he has done very well , these guys will want to make this team because this team is going to shock people
Josh on the bench round 1 and good luck to him

I really like this guy for his on field performances so far and also his attitude.

On potential he is what has been missing in our forwards for a long time - an aggressive tackling machine that hits, sticks and stings. Really hope he develops this year and becomes capable of long minutes.

Would love to see him get a bench spot in round 1 and stay in the top squad all year.

From what ive seen and heard i would be extended his contract asap. We can build the future around Woods, Felise, Sue, Aloiai, and the 2 Siro's, particularly Bayley

I would add Dallas Graham as well. He looks like a gun.

Potentially it's a good pack isn't it. I'd put Ava in there as well. Ava is much more proven to me than basically all of those players excluding Woods. I'm hopeful Sue has a breakout year this year and even Sirro.

Just the 12 month contract. We should move early on an extension if he shows some promise. The Knights in particular may be looking for a replacement for Tapine.

looks and sounds great, love seeing kids like him coming up. Really look forward to watching him play.
Was I reading posts here recently about our lack of depth? Looks good to me. Looks very good.

Who's he like? I haven't seen him yet. One of my mates mentioned Taumalolo?

I reckon he looks like more of a Josh Jackson style of player rather than Taumalolo. Can play tight or wide, good workrate with constant aggression.

Well done Tigers on picking up Aloiai. He'll be good off the bench this year and hopefully will put serious pressure on Sirro and Lawrence for a starting position. Lovett also looked bigger and better than last year.
Parra went the expensive route in buying Anthony Watmough and Beau Scott. Scott's defensive and experience will be good but I can't see Anthony Watmough lasting a full season. Glad we got Aloiai when we did.

Is the true deal, the kid can play. I worry about his tackle technique at times reminds me of how Dicko would hit around the ribs (still the best defender I have seen who had to retire before 1st grade).

Wests Tigers youn gun Josh Aloiai says he definitely feels a part of the team following his successful NRL debut against the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday.

Reflecting on the match as he spoke to the media today, the former Junior Kiwi said he was thrilled he was able to make his debut in front of family and friends against the side he once supported, after playing his junior football for the Glenora Bears in Auckland.

“It was an awesome experience," he said. "I was fortunate enough to play against the Warriors which is my home team so it was a real blessing,”

“I definitely feel like I’m part of the team and I fit in well. I feel included,”

The difference in the physical and mental aspects of the NRL compared to the lower grades was the biggest thing the 20-year-old took out of his first hit out.

“The physicality and just being mentally switched on at all moments," he said. “If you have any lapses then obviously it gets taken advantage of, so just staying in the game."

Preparing to take on the Sea Eagles at Leichhardt Oval on Monday night, the young rookie said his side were prepared for a completely different Manly side this week after Trent Barrett's side were convincingly beaten by the Bulldogs in their opening round clash.

“Round 1 there was a bit of rust, so a few things they’ll (Manly) be working on that I’m sure,” Aloiai said. I don’t think was a typical Manly performance but I think they’ll bring their best against us this week and that’s what we’ll prepare for,

"We've trained well… and we're ready to go again and have another good performance."

Great young acquisition to Our Club…His work rate in the 30 odd mins he got against the Warriors was superb.. Good having an impact off the bench who can play both wide and tight...

This kid is the real deal as I've said it before our Trials.

A mate of mine who is an Eels supporter said to me at the end of last year
" you have stolen a gem from under our noses " , and my mate has a good eye for talent when he sees one.
I texted him after the Sharks trial and said " your spot on mate ".

Really excited what this guy can achieve .

He is the goods,
Only gonna get better to.

Got ourselves another future superstar.

Showed more in 2 trials and 1 FG game than all of the other junior backrowers we have on the books.
