Josh Drinkwater

We have to take this for what it is, a young bloke looking for a fresh start coming home. With Austin gone, we need some depth in the halves and Drinkwater won't be on massive coin, so it's a win-win situation as far as I see it. Plus you never know, his form may pick up with us and he could turn out to be a handy acquisition.

I just informed my girlfriend that we've signed this lad….

She asked for a photo and I showed her on google.
She said he went to her schoo (She went to Hunter Sports High, here in Newcastle)

She said he was never talked up as much as some of the othe footy boys, like Tyrone Roberts, Kruise Wilson, Matau'tia boys, etc - however he is one of the nicest guys around.

She said he's good on the guitar and always really nice and friendly.
She said she was thinking about him the other day wondering what happened to him.

I like the sound of him tbh.
Hope he is a success.

Great news. When he's not playing he can serenade the boys on the bench. Should be great for team morale.

I see a new band coming Josh and the Jugheads

It would be a big band because there are plenty of jugheads.

Happy Tiger I don't think anybody on this forum has advised whether he is he an organizer with kicking game or is a running half with a good passing game. We do know now however that he is a good guitarist.

good signing as a back up if true i heard some good things about him a year or two ago but then nothing. hopefully he steps up if given the chance through injury.
jaccob miller is hopeless, was under preforming and got dropped like he should have cracked the poops and asked to leave as he wasnt playing 1st grade, i wouldnt ever want someone like that back in the team.

Hey Demps, how come your girlfriend was thinking of Josh Drinkwater instead of you mate…

Have you been spending to much time on the forum and neglecting your home duties.....just joking mate,I think Josh maybe a good acquisition for us,especially if we have injuries in the halves department.... :sign:

Haha… eh

Just thought I'd pass the info on, provide some insight on what kind of person he is....
As I did with the Chance Peni thread

Will be pretty pleased with this signing. Good to add to our depth. And although some aren't happy with signing him, if all goes accordingly won't need to play him anyway.

Plus if we got another gem like Austin, they'd just get snapped up again.

He's only young but hopefully he makes the most of this oppurtunity back in the NRL.
I'll be cheering for him.

Kudos for you for changing your tune …will hold of the failed career tag for now eh

Add him to the failed career thread?

6\. Moltzen
7\. Drinkwater

NSWCUP CHAMPS!

:blah :blah :blah :blah

Drinkwater is only 22 years old hes still got alot of potential. Look at Martin Taupau, this time last year people were laughing at him when we signed him. Look at him now hes playing for the kiwis. Sometimes just gotta give people a chance. :ugeek:

Here we go again IS anybody good enough to put the Tigers Jersey on ..how long has the season been over ,I am starting to get the feeling that many here do not live in the real world or was our season so successful that no addition to the player ranks is required.
The club has not got a great deal of money and certain positions need a back up so enter young Drinkwater by all accounts not a bad prospect for the capital outlay! Yes I know the club should only be signing the Top shelf of players but reality is that is not going to happen.
Maybe we all could welcome these young players to our club without denergading them before they have played one game for our club.Welcombe Josh Drinkwater to our club and hoping it is a successful venture for both parties!

I entirely agree! Why would a top shelf half want to come to the Tigers, when they may be stuck behind Brooks and Moses. Drinkwater may not be the best player, but just remember, Austin wasn't either and look how he turned out.

Ive got no wrap on Drinkwater at all, happy to say I think he was extremely overated in the SG Ball and NYC, was flabbergasted when the Dragons signed him to a top 25 contract.
Im disappointed with the signing, especially if it is a top tier contract. If he has been signed to play NSW Cup im ok with that, but feel there is players with more potential Id rather have here.

Well I do not know what Josh Drinkwater you guys were watching but In my opinion he is a great signing and will prove you Bozo's are bad judges. :wtf :crazy
Fantastic backup option and he can kick goals as well. Wow. We are truly very fortunate to have the talent we now have in Club!!!! :sign: :righton:

Gee there are some whingers on here. Who do you think we are going to sign for depth and to play state cup Cherry-Evans maybe Johnathon Thurston on a million a year?

Get with it, he has been signed on a second teir contract to play state cup. He is only young and has a bit of talent. You never know he may come good he may not. All going well we won't need him in first grade!
