Josh Reynolds needs playing time before Wests Tigers return, says Robbie Farah

Happy for whoever Madge thinks should be in the 17.

Happy if Reynolds plays elsewhere until he's ready, I don't see the point of carrying Reynolds on the bench at all really.
If Liddle is fit then he gets a bench spot, can't have both there.

Must be hard for Robbie to say that , he and Reynolds have been good mates for a while

Reynolds is a good player , but he isn't the right fit for Brooks or the WT's unfortunately

I heard josh on the radio and he didnt sound very happy he said he was gutted and it cuts deep. He sounded suprised.

I don’t think anyone is too surprised after that trial. He looked panicky to me. Just needs to get back in the swing of things.

Thats the issue for me too. I could see it and i can see it im sure Maguire can.

Josh was trying too hard, his timing is out.

I agree there…Also is 5/8 his best position given his skills deficiencies for the 5/8 role...He should bulk up and play lock where he can run around with all his enthusiasm and tackle all day....I like Josh but not as our 5/8 and not for the money he is on....

He is a 5/8 that need an organizing 7 inside him

Why he was successful with Hodgkinson at SOO

Brooks is a runner 1st and that should always be his 1st thought when he touches the footy ….unless he has seen something off the cuff

His game functions so much better when he has the confidence to run

Yeah, 140 odd NRL games st 5/8 that has taken him to grand finals and state of origin but people think he's not a 5/8\. Him and Brooks just need time together.

If Benji is only good for a few games a year, they're more likely to be at the start of the season before he gets even older, slower and more senile.
Let Grub get some match fitness up then bring him in a few weeks and benji can then do what he wants. play ISP or retire.

Hey Pateiot, just so it’s out there beforehand - at some stage on Saturday, benji will probably kick on the third tackle. Just warning you in advance😀

You could stick the best 6 and 7 together who have ever played the game but if there styles don't gel it won't work

Good example Lewis and Sterling of their era were the two best 6 and 7 …yet Mortimer and Lewis looked far more dangerous together and Sterling and Kenny were the same but combine Lewis and Sterling or Mortimer and Kenny and it doesn't work anywhere near as well

Why ....simple Kenny and Mortimer were runners of the ball 1st and foremost ...Lewis and Sterling strengths were their field vision and playing 3 plays ahead of everyone else on the field

Lewis and Sterling (and Andrew Johns ) still has adequate running games but again that was because of that field vision ...they hit different runners ...they defence screams out of the line to shut his runners down and then they run

Stuart and Daley same thing , field vision and runner

The best combo is a field marshall and a runner

You put a Blake Green ....Maloney .....even Hogdkinson with Brooks and we'd flow like grease lightning

How many games / seasons did Hodgkinson and Reynolds play together at the Dogs 2011-15

And honestly since 2016 how has Reynolds looked as a player ????????

He was a pretty decent player. He has to prove that he is a decent player now.

Thing is , he doesn't have that field vision that can take control of a game

And that's the problem , Brooks sees something …. runs ....and then next play Reynolds needs to become the field dictator

Don't get me wrong ....I've said on here plenty of times having two halves running on consecutive plays in the opposition 20 can be so effective but it has to be off a quick play the ball and the run has to be on against a retreating unorganized defence and that second runner needs some speed over the 1st few steps

Reynolds has good footwork and a good step but he isn't a speedster over the 1st few steps

Football is a simple game ....ask Bellamy ....but you have to do the simple stuff well and have someone with a footy brain to put that simple plan into play

Melbourne were so successful because they had 2

Qld were so successful because they 3

We don't have anyone unfortunately with that mindset ....Farah and Marshall are pure instinct ....Brooks is a runner .....Reynolds is a runner

Put the 2005 Scott Prince in the mix with Hodgson .....hey presto

Precisely…. Brooks needs his foil on the feild.

Josh is a good bloke and competitor.... i dint think he is the right halves partner

Agree with all that. But were stuck with Reynolds or Marshall. Neither have what you call field vision. So you got to go with one of them and Reynolds is the better selection IMO in the long term

The coach knows best at this stage

Benji showed some game management from Rd 1-4 last season until the 2nd half of the Manly game and then let the old Benji out of the cupboard

Benji needs to swallow his pride and play the game the WT's needs

For me the issue is Farah ….Marshall and Brooks will have far more time playing behind Liddle in attack and Brooks knows he will get the ball when he demands it

That combination has a far better chance of success imo ...
