Lol we were never winning that roosters game. We could have super subbed Hercules and still got demolished

The Reynolds “brain explosion” was a bit of an overreaction. Competing for the ball =/= deliberating kicking him in the head. If you watch the replay reynolds only has eyes for the ball, the centre would have appeared in a split second. And unless you have the fast twitch muscles of usain bolt, would have been almost impossible to pull out of

We probably weren’t going to beat Roosters but Reynolds made sure of it. And any Z grade player is taught to dive on that ball in the Souths game. Him being binned totally swung momentum. LBH Josh was a waste of space at Wests Tigers.

I guess different instincts will kick in for different players, reynolds is definitely one that will back himself. Latrell should have been sent that game. Legit attacked 3 of our players

His instincts definitely tell him to kick (or trip), seen that a few times. Agree Latrell got off lightly, standard refereeing against WT.

Oh well at the end of the day you can’t blame him for taking the offer we gave him. Worth it or not, you’d take the overs anyday

He is a quality bloke as he has shown, not the most skilful player, but he never kicked up a stink about not getting selected etc. And his interview yesterday was all class. Wish him nothing but the best in England

Yeah I wasn't a fan of his, but wish him the best in the future. If he stays injury free I think he will do well in the super league.

Im not a fan of his on or off the field but respect him not dumping in the club Anasta style in the circumstances. Wish him nothing but the best in the UK

Geez 21 games across 3 seasons on his money has to make him our worst ever signing. He had to go.

Matt Ballin, 40 minutes playing time in 2 years would be up there too.

Ballin didn't really cost anything, was heavily subsidised by Manly. Overall, Reynolds is the worst signing in WT history imo.

Mbye is still up there for me. Hes played so much more than Josh Rey, yet i feel hes contributed less to the team. At least Josh looked like he gave a ?.

Mbye has made contributions, and I generally think he's a good player. He's just maligned so heavily due to his overinflated salary. If he was on $400k he wouldn't get the same criticism.

Mbye has played and done a decent job for us. Reynolds is our worst ever signing and it's not even close.

I cannot even think of one highlight to take from mbye in 2020, solid player who gives you the bare minimum a first grade player should, but that’s about it

***If reynolds played the same amount of game time as him there would have been daylight.***

Not even sure if Mbye has received one MOTM award playing for us? Grub has received multiple

There is a reason that Reynolds didn't play the same amount of game time and it isnt injuries.

Benji is why.

Brooks and Reynolds combined well when they played together this year

Exactly, Josh Reynolds standard of play and training was such that a 35yo who cant defend was preferred. Not a ringing endorsement.

DIsagree. Benji was preferred due to club politics. Reynolds should have been straight back in after his suspension ended.

100% he should have, we looked good before Grub was suspended, ***the club were too scared to drop Benji,*** and he gave them good reason to, the knights game was pathetic

and yet.......

https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/06/09/marshall-dropped-as-reynolds-returns/

Some short memories around here.

No short memory mate, I was talking about after Grub got suspended, Benji played some absolute shockers, but the club didn’t want to send Benji out from the bench. Benji deserved to be dropped, the club didn’t have the balls to do it

But did have the balls in June?

Politics had nothing to do with it. Reynolds wasnt good enough. Additionally none of us know what his attitude to training was like. If it was anything like his commitment at Brooky, that may have everything to do with it.

Sorry mate I can't agree, in June it wasn't the end of the road for Benji, in August/September it was, two completely different scenario's

And I can not agree with you. It makes zero sense. Maguire had zero problems dropping anyone on form all year and at the end of the year when our season was still on the line and his career and future earning potential, he simply wanted to be a good bloke to Benji? Mr Eggshells? You think that is the likely scenario? Because Maguire is noted for his soft side?

IMO that is ridiculous and some of the JR fanboys will invent anything to put their man in a good light. I genuinely dont get it. He is a poor player. At his BEST it was a struck match overall between him and Benji and there are clear signs that his attitude was not good.

Let me give you another hint that your "Madge just wanted to send off Benji in first grade" theory is rubbish. Benji was not offered a contract and was shown the door. That is how much Madge thought of him at the end of the year. Now with the glory of Benji gone and the club short another 5/8, surely its Reynolds time in the sun? No they punted him. HE IS NOT WANTED AND WASNT WANTED IN FIRST GRADE LAST YEAR. What makes you think that if Benji was dropped Madge wouldnt have used AD or Mbye instead? REynolds had more than enough chance to show what he was about. Problem for JR is he did exactly that.

I am not a Grub fan boy, far from it, and Madge not offering Benji a contract proves nothing. Benji should never have got a contract for 2020 to start with, a favour by Madge, he should have went with Farah

Not sure what there is to not like about him off the field, he seems like one of the most genuine guys in the game. But that’s your prerogative. Not many players would have the humility to come out and admit they were a dud buy.

I have the utmost respect for Josh and how he has handled himself. Never once had he had a bad word to say about the club or the fans. He acknowledged that Wests Tigers never got value from his signing. It wasn’t Josh’s fault he was signed for overs. Injuries weren’t his fault either. He struggled with his personal life while here. I think he can hold his head up. I wish Josh all the best for his future.

We share acquaintences, Ive seen and heard things that are not cool. Nothing I want to share here.

Like I said. I respect the way he has handled his exit.

yep same here

i've never liked him as a person and was nauseous when he signed for us

I thought last 2 years, he's matured a little bit off the field

On the field, I would've thought that with his experience, he could push for a start at 5/8 but glad that he isn't here anymore

Worked well for all involved but definitely one of the biggest dud buys in history (through no fault of his own or the current coach)

It's a different conversation but been working in injury management and prevention for a while and I can safely say that players are well aware of the injury risks, prevention methods etc. There is a reason why professional players who are good trainers get less injured. There are heaps of freak injuries, especially in a sport like this though. Not saying it's Josh's fault either.

Otherwise, agree with everything you've said

Even though he has left the Tigers

I was very happy to hear JREY on the big sports breakfast this morning.

Sounds positive and full of enthusiasm.

good on him for still wanting to do his best and for his new club... Grubby is a champion bloke

Grubby was always a happy, supportive & a very positive bloke that would always give his 100%, and a helping hand towards his teammates on and off the field. Josh always brought that extra motivation and positive energy both Bulldogs, Tigers. I wish him well in Super League
