Firstly, meh!

Secondly, Balmain Boy is right. The OP is skewing the truth. We had injuries (the reason Rankin had to step in last minute) **and** he was given clear instructions. The article states: "A fullback or winger by trade, Rankin said his instructions from coach Jason Taylor **were clear**. _It was just do whatever the halves wanted, and I just gave it to them. It's pretty plain and simple for me_."

Sure, it makes sense that JT would have been better served with an accomplished hooker but hey, the proof is in the pudding. Rankin just had to follow basic instructions and distribute to the halves for us to get the win.
Don't look now but maybe our gameplan has the dummy-half as a role player….. :astonished:

Id love to see how that made up game plan went against one of the better teams. Especially in the second half when we had no direction and at stages no one playing dummy half. Thats what happens when you dont play with a recognised hooker. All these options (halatau, edwards, rankin) make us look better in attack then the farah/halatau combination did against rhe panthers and rhe rabbits. Your kidding yourself arent you.

Thats another argument. You were saying Rankin had no idea he was going to possibly play hooker before the game.
He did,

Hold on , i thought Rankin was only moved there due to injuries. So it was a JT masterstroke lol. Almost as good as Lovett to the centres.

Rankin said he was happy to embrace the utility role when needed.
>
"There was always an option to play me there," he said.
\

"I'd like to class myself as a bit of a utility, I can play a bit of anywhere… **the club knows I can play anywhere at a pinch so to get the game time there was obviously a couple of injuries and we had a couple of forced changes** through that second half so I was happy to fill in there when I needed to.
>
"It was only for a short amount of time but the main thing was we got the win."

Keep digging

Probably because the plan going in was for Edwards to play hooker but he had to be used cover the injuries to Grant/Lawrence.

Yes Edward's at hooker :roll

Dude the horse is a gonna :deadhorse:

Did you forget to change accounts or were you just randomly self-quoting?

I don't know what I'm doing….........atleast I'll admit it taylor.

I think it's pretty clear that all Rankin was stating is that the idea that Robbie provides slower or poorer service is obviously not true and basically any moron can see that.

Maybe it makes JT's comments seem more stupid than they were but I don't see it that way because I think anyone who bought that line is pretty dumb.

I also don't think JT was losing or has lost the players or that Rankin was having a go at JT. It's just obvious that dropping Robbie is not based on there being a better option at hooker.

I watched all the interviews on the Tigers site and the players seem pretty happy. I don't think that has anything to do with dropping Robbie or supporting JT. I think the players are just stoked to be close to making the finals.

tigerman - you are the one that has no idea… this is just another Taylor beat up - there were injuries in the game and the team needed adjustment - Rankin knew what was happening and AT LEAST he wants to follow his coach - no ego no drama - that's what is needed - getting tired of reading threads like these.

Like what my old man say - if you have nothing better to say about the person don't say it at all - I guess I gave in and had to let you know that it was you that has no idea... you twisted this one to suit you. :brick: :brick: :brick:

What a FAIL of a thread this is

…a 'tryhard' comes to mind...tryhardman80?

 Did you have to try hard to find some pictures from the shed, and a link about it, to try hard to prove your point if it was such a fail?

now that we all know JT has no idea , can we just sack him and make this all end. now on a lighter not i was thinking sacking is so dull , how about we nail him to the goal posts and every one can take goal shots at him, after that we put him on a white horse and take him down parramatta road, before leaving him at rosters headquarters, with a note pinned to him thanks but no thanks. lol.

:crazy even if by some miracle they
won the Gf this year with JT as coach
he'd still be wrong for some. Rake or no
Rake we won didn't we?

The way we are kicking no one would hit him

Reading what Rankin actually says, not the reporter, it sounds like he did know.

Rankin,
"It was always a matter of how Dene was going to handle playing the full 80 minutes, knowing we didn't have a hooker on the bench and (prop) Joel Edwards playing as well," he said.

Catch his last quote as well?

Yep and it was a bad outcome. If we had of lost against that terrible side, Taylor would have been forced to pick his best 17.

I don't think a white horse is appropriate a donkey will be a good match.

In an article in the SMH July 27 11:59am, Rankin was asked about his dummy half role on the weekend.

**_Rankin said he didn't know about his new role until during the game.\
\
"It was always a matter of how Dene was going to handle playing the full 80 minutes, knowing we didn't have a hooker on the bench and (prop) Joel Edwards playing as well," he said.\
\
"There was a stage there where it just happened that I had to come out and fill the role for a bit so (Halatau) could get a breather._**

So JT thought it wise to thrust Rankin into the role without prior warning, no gameplan during the week. No practice during training
Rankin then opens up about Robbie Farah:

**_Rankin, 24, also weighed into the Taylor-Farah saga, hitting out at critics of the former club captain for claiming he wasn't giving the team's young halves enough opportunities in attack.\
\
"The stories about Robbie not giving them enough ball, to me it seems like a beat-up," he said._**

Its seem more and more clear that JT has just about lost the playing group. Rather than try to fool them and us with spin, he should have just called the Farah dumping for what it is. They can, just like us also see that he makes it up as he goes (rankin at hooker, lovett in the centres). Its so sad to see coaching decisions actually undermining a team rather than helping them.

Another dumb move from an equally dumb coach.
It seems like the natives are starting to get restless in JTLand
Pascoe might have a lot more comments to review soon
