There is no doubt that there was circumstances that made Rankin go to hooker but did JT go into the game thinking Halatau was playing 80 minutes? Of course not.

It seems that anyone who isn't in JT's future plans moving forward won't be in the team as Cherrington, Farah and Addo-Carr would be in the Top 17 in some people's eye ahead of players such as Rankin, Lovett and Edwards.

Just come out and say it….instead of the spin he used last week that his picking the best 17 to beat the Dragons, well IMO it was spin.

These types of comments stating that we aren't that good a team are funny aren't they.

Im sure non Wests fans would find that comment funny. We're about where we deserve to be. The bottom half of the 8 at best. Our main issue is the same as most teams around us. We don't play for 80 minutes.

I thought Halatau was doing a great job and making good inroads from dummy with his runs. But as you said was always going to run out steam.

It's quite clear that he's our best option at 9 and the team functions well with him there, trying to make us believe that playing a guy that's never really been a hooker and is ready for retirement and shuffling in a guy who is borderline NRL quality at 9 and out of positiin is better than playing the NSW hooker and club legend there, you're just making yourself look like a fool and at the same time insulting everyone's intelligence.

I think there is a bit of confusion going on here. Calling out Taylor for something you dont agree with does not mean you hate that person. Taylor either planned to play Rankin at some stage to give Halatau a break, or the plan all along was to rest Halatau with Edwards. So either way the option was to play an untried hooker there (rankin is a winger, edwards is a reggies second rower). Now if you think thats a good decision while your SOO hooker is playing reggies then fine. But if i or others dont agree with it, doesnt mean we are out to get Taylor, we are just calling it for what it is. Same as Lovett playing centre, blind freddy can see that he cant (let 1 try in, bombed another). Play your best team, fix our defence like you promised you would and get us to the semis, thats all we want.

It's funny because the same people that want us to have a dud team and want JT to be the best coach of all time conveniently forget that Robbie (the SOO hooker) is playing reserve grade.

Rankin had a fair bit of experience at hooker in the ESL….that's probably whyTaylor had him play at dh when the injuries happened...Rankin is a good utility player,that's why he is in the squad.....

I'm sure Rankin would be willing to play anywhere as long as he is in first grade, he isn't a worldbeater on the wing anyway. Lovett to centre was duddy though, MCK would offer so much more value off the bench at centre.

I dont mind Rankin, not the fastest but is pretty consistent especially in defence. he looks better at fullback, and im sure could play anywhere. But if the plan was to use him at hooker then put chee kam on rhe bench.
