Junior Tupou #254

Yeah, not a big fan of To'a.

I think Tupou has real potential to be a quality starter for us though, he's the youngest of that lot and although very raw at the moment, has game-breaking ability.

I don't think we've seen the best of Talau either (provided he's able to get back to full fitness).
Madge was a huge fan of Tom..... so is Benji supposedly ...probably the best defender of that group you mentioned

You’d hope we haven’t seen the best of Talau.
He’s been bloody ordinary so far.
apart from the odd stupid error coming out of yardage I think he’s shown plenty of promise. he’s moved around wing and centre a fair bit but runs a great line, defends brilliantly front on and his try scoring strike rate is excellent for a team that constantly loses.

Sheens and Marshall will be perfect for him. the fact that they intentionally held him back last year when he could’ve played gives me confidence he’ll hit the ground running Round 1. might take him a little while to hit his straps but I think he will become a very very good centre by midseason.

I agree...plenty of upside in his game. Was devastated when he got injured in that final round of 2021. Felt like he was just starting to get set in that right centre position.

Some harsh critics of poor old Talau on here...

Come on man…if there was one player who would be a good bet to kill a movement with poor hands, getting bundled into touch or getting beaten laterally it was usually him.
Let’s see how he comes back.

definitely. back end of 21 he was definitely looking like the player we had heard he was coming through. hopefully a full season of footy this year will have him where we need him.

Nope there was worse, Flippers Kepoea ring a bell.
All our backs need to lift their standards to nrl level. All of them.

Just think we have our coaches locked in for the next 4.9 seasons. Think about that. I can’t see hope. Benji has never been a coach.
