Even though he’s come into grade at hooker, he could develop into a very good half.He was in the 6 jersey but seemed to be the more dominant half so halfback?

A few pathways players trained with the team today, Archie Duncombe, Jared Haywood & the kid next to Jared in the pic. I think it’s Xavier Taiaifaiga 18yo centre from Balmain SG Ball debuted in Flegg recently. Can anyone confirm? @balmain boy
👍 He seems to be one of our highly rated in-favour 18/19yo outside backs with Max Taotua & Cameron Kanaan.Think you're right, he's cut braids
Jeezus he’s shorter than Farah & Benji! Another short outside back 🤦♂️Think you're right, he's cut braids

It would be nice if we could find some tall, strong, fast and athletic outside backs from somewhere.Jeezus he’s shorter than Farah & Benji! Another short outside back 🤦♂️
I was going to say it looks like him but he's got a different haircut.Think you're right, he's cut braids
Yep, as I've said numerous times I have no idea why we are continually recruiting well undersize players. One here or there, sure. But there's several, in every grade. I can't see him making it, decent footwork but he's no Reece Walsh.Jeezus he’s shorter than Farah & Benji! Another short outside back 🤦♂️
For every player under 180 we should be signing two over 186cm. Our recruiting has been wronged for so long, got to play the odds look for those big, strong, fast rough diamondsIt would be nice if we could find some tall, strong, fast and athletic outside backs from somewhere.
I suppose that’s why Heamasi is so appealing as he fits this mould, but we need a few more.
Deine Mariner is 1.85cm or 6ft 1inch and so is Kotoni Staggs so you don't need to go overboard with height to compete or be top class centres. It would be nice if we could find some tall, strong, fast and athletic outside backs from somewhere.

183cm or taller is decent height, we have plenty in our 2025 roster that are well under that.Deine Mariner is 1.85cm or 6ft 1inch and so is Kotoni Staggs so you don't need to go overboard with height to compete or be top class centres.
1.85 cm is decent, yes. Still a bit short but able to compete ion all areas.Deine Mariner is 1.85cm or 6ft 1inch and so is Kotoni Staggs so you don't need to go overboard with height to compete or be top class centres.
I think Mariner is one of the best, if not the best young centre, in the NRL. Staggs is an established top echelon centre. I would love to have both at WTs and consider they are the ideal build for NRL centres.1.85 cm is decent, yes. Still a bit short but able to compete ion all areas.
Whereas under 180cm we have: Olam, Faatape, Luke L, Feledy, Mason, Will Craig - all at roughly 176, plus Sullivan and Sezer in the halves too. Then there's Staines and Toa at 180cm, and Turuva next year at 181cm. Also none of these players are actually FAST.
That's just way too many players at, or under, 180cm. And that's why we struggle in defence. 10 cm can be the difference between catching/contesting a kick or standing helpless as the opposition score. When we give up 20cm its a no contest. We can't compete one on one against the likes of Tupou, Turbo, Coates, Saab etc.
And then there's our forwards at or under 180cm too which further exacerbates the issue.
Thanks for the update BB.Nice to see Haywood lead Patrician Brothers to the schoolboy sup final win today, after losing to Galvin last year. Down 10-0 they ended up winning 34-16!
Christian Taupau-Moors is another name we should hear plenty about in the coming years who was also playing in that side.Nice to see Haywood lead Patrician Brothers to the schoolboy sup final win today, after losing to Galvin last year. Down 10-0 they ended up winning 34-16!
I can’t answer that question, but I’d say there is much bigger plans for Onitoni Large than Wests SG Ball in 2025.With Isdale leaving for the Sharks, who will partner Large in the halves for the Magpies SG Ball squad next year?
