Kangaroos Train On Squad...

couldnt imagine the panthers having a lot in the squad.

a champion team beats a team of champions. e.g. Storm vs Cowboys/Broncos.

Once we get some consistency and our best team on the paddock you'll start to see a lot more SOO, NZ and Aussie selections

Every years it is the same story. Clubs have too much money invested in their top players to allow them to risk injury and be unavailable for the start of premiership 2015.

Great chance for Woods to impress and grab a starting spotin light of all the injuries.

Was surprised not to see Mitch Pearce in there. His last couple of months have been very impressive.
He'd have to get a call up now that Thurstons out wouldn't he.
At present he's my NSW no 7 for 2015\. Funny how things turn around, couldn't wait to get rid of him in recent years.

Good luck Woodsy, would be a well deserved end to a good year for him personally.

It would be a very bad move getting offside so early with Robbie ….I hope JT learns by the mistakes Potter made and lets Farah play.

The Australian Rugby League Commission has today selected the following players to represent the Holden Kangaroos in the Four Nations tournament.

Ten players have been selected to make their Test debuts in the tournament, which begins with a double header at Suncorp Stadium on October 25.

“We have a really good blend of experience and youth,” Holden Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens said. “The positive for me is the experience that even the debutants have. We have a high proportion of State of Origin representatives and premiership winners and they all deserve to wear the jumper.”

Player (NRL Club/Junior Club)

Greg Bird (Gold Coast Titans/West Maitland Red Dogs/ Maitland Pumpkin Pickers)
Daly Cherry-Evans (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles/Mackay Brothers)
Boyd Cordner (Sydney Roosters/Old Bar Pirates)
Cooper Cronk (Melbourne Storm/Souths Acacia)
Robbie Farah (Wests Tigers/Enfield Federals/Leichhardt Wanderers)
Aidan Guerra (Sydney Roosters/Townsville Brothers)
Jarryd Hayne (Parramatta Eels/East Campbelltown Eagles/Cabramatta)
Ryan Hoffman (Melbourne Storm/Campbelltown Collegians)
Ben Hunt Brisbane (Broncos/Blackwater Crushers)
Greg Inglis (South Sydney Rabbitohs/Bowraville Tigers)
Josh Jackson (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs/Gulgong Terriers/Mudgee Dragons)
Michael Jennings (Sydney Roosters/St Marys/West City Tigers)
Alex Johnston (South Sydney Rabbitohs/La Perouse Panthers)
David Klemmer (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs/All Saints)
Josh Mansour (Penrith Panthers/St Johns/Kingsgrove Colts)
Sione Mata’utia (Newcastle Knights/Raymond Terrace/South Newcastle)
Josh Papalii (Canberra Raiders/Logan Brothers)
Corey Parker (Brisbane Broncos/Logan Brothers)
Beau Scott (Newcastle Knights/Picton Magpies)
Cameron Smith © (Melbourne Storm/Logan Brothers)
Sam Thaiday (Brisbane Broncos/Townsville Brothers)
Daniel Tupou (Sydney Roosters/Berala Bears/Guildford Owls)
Dylan Walker (South Sydney Rabbitohs/Mascot Jets)

Congrats robbie and woodsy. Klemmer and woods the only specialist props that I can see. Others like pappali and Parker might slot in there.

Klemmer,
Mata'utia,
Hunt,
Walker,

All very strange selections.

I was thinking the same but then I thought who would they have picked??

Has sione even played 5 nrl games? Johnstons played like 20, walker has only played 1 season and Klemmer is barely in the top 4 props at his own club.

Was Crocker injured? GeeZe that guy deserves a chance. So did will chambers, Tim lafai? Idris? Mead, Gordon. It's a kick in the guts to the players who've been playing for years IMO.

There are plenty of props ahead of Klemmer, including Josh McGuire and Lillyman who should certainly be in front of him.

Hunt goes alright but there is no way he is good enough to be playing for Australia.

There's no way Mata'utia or Walker will even get a game surely?

I don't mind Johnstone's selection, the kid has enormous ability.

I think this is the best side we could put out:

1\. Hayne
2\. Mansour
3\. Inglis
4\. Jennings
5\. Johnstone
6\. Cherry-Evans
7\. Cronk
8\. Woods
9\. Smith
10\. Papalii
11\. Scott
12\. Guerra
13\. Bird

14\. Farah
15\. Hoffman
16\. Thaiday
17\. Parker

There are players out of their regular position (Papalii at prop but he played there in the PM's XIII) and Johnstone is on his non-preferred wing but I think this is the best we can do with a poorly selected squad. I believe Farah offers much more off the bench than Hunt does.

Agreed on Klemmer and Mata'utia, however Hunt and Walker definitely deserve a shot. Hunt was the 2nd best half all year behind Thurston and Walker imo was the best centre this year

Don't so much mind Walker's selection, more that I think the prestige of a Kangaroos jersey warrants more than 1 good season of form to earn it. Same goes for Hunt. 12 months ago he was unwanted.
