Keebra Park have defeated Patrician Brothers 28-4 in the final of the GIO schoolboys cup.

Keebra Park came into the match with last year's premiers Patrician Brothers Blacktown playing their fifth schoolboys final in nine years.

Patrician Brothers had the first opportunity to attack after an early error from Keebra winger Jamain Iroa, but the Queenslanders' defence held firm.

Keebra opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the first 30 minute half through left centre Watson Heleta who found plenty of space out wide after an offload from second rower Lamar Manuel-Liolevave.

Both players are contracted to Wests Tigers.

Winger Jamian Iroa, who'll also head to Wests Tigers in 2014, converted from the sideline despite plenty of heckling from the vocal Patrician Brothers crowd.

Manuel-Liolevave combined with Heleta again just two minutes later, the centre receiving the ball from his inside man after great lead up work.

Iroa missed the conversion to make it 10-0 after 14 minutes.

Keebra should have been in to score with 8 minutes remaining in the first half after some brilliant pieces of passing through the middle, but the touch judge intervened to call it back.

Keebra weren't to be denied however, winger Talor Walters showing great acceleration to score in the right corner after an offload inside the 20 metre zone brought the defence in.

Iroa slotted from the sideline to make the score 16-0 in the 26th minute.

Patrician Brothers finally had an opportunity to attack the Keebra line just before halftime and capitalised, giant right centre Robert Jennings powering over Marion Seve who had switched to left centre.

Tyrone May missed with the conversion and that would be the final play before halftime, Keebra Park leading Patrician Brothers 16-4.

Patrician Brothers got off to the worst possible start, kicking the ball dead from the resumption of play.

Keebra couldn't capitalise, fullback Sione Alofi sending the last pass in a nice movement forward after earlier showing good hands.

Patrician Brothers had struggled with their handling in the first half and the second was no different, knocking on again immediately from the ensuing set.

Centre Marion Seve atoned for his defence lapse in the first half, blitzing the defence from the scrum and showing great pace to score after moving back to right centre. Wests Tigers have high hopes for the Australian Schoolboys representative.

Iroa converted his third for the day to make the score 22-4 with four minutes gone in the second half.

Keebra were well and truly showing their class, going in again in the 37th minute through Wests Tigers contracted five-eighth Te-Maire Martin who turned the fullback inside out on three separate occasions to score under the posts.

Iroa made no mistake to leave the score at 28-4.

The scoring slowed down from there, with the highlights coming from the big men supplying big hit ups and bigger hits.

Keebra Park's Tiawharangi Aranui was sin-binned with less than three than three minutes remaining for a dubious high shot, much to the confusion of the watching fans.

Patrician Brothers had simply dropped too much ball to be competitive with the classy Keebra Park side and continued that way, knocking on from the ensuing set.

The final score would be 28-4, with Keebra Park taking out the title.

Marion Seve was presented with the Peter Sterling medal for the player of the year.

Once again nearly all the points were scored by WT contracted players! And Liolevave who didn't score set up Heleta for his tries, just as he had done for Seve as well.
Combine these guys with Balmain's national champion SG Ball side and its fair to say the great youth products will continue for some time yet!
