Club or coach? There is more evidence to suggest it is a club issue rather than a coach. Cleary and Maguire have been the best two available options when we signed them and despite available funds neither have been able to strike with a key player. It was pretty evident that Ivan didn't have a chance in hell of convincing Nathan to come and we all know what happened then.

How many Current Tigers players would play first grade in the top teams???

Maybe Luch,
Maybe Adam Doeuhi,
Maybe Joffa...

The rest are good up and coming players that will need some time..

Brooks definitely, Twal, Mikaele, Talau, Laurie, Nofoaluma.

Twal, on the bench possibly....

Based on form, the others wouldnt make Mel, Panthers, Roosters etc

However, there is so much potential to build around under the guidance of Madge

Funny how the Huth and Momo get a run at the undefeated 'Riff when many on here thought they shouldn't be in our 17.

Huth barely features - and rightly so. Getting a run as a replacement is the extent of his contribution. And by "contribution" I mean plodding.

Brooks, Twal, Talau wouldn't make any other run on team.

back Madge, but for goodness sake put some decent people around him.

Back Madge and allow him to build a decent squad.

Is it too much to ask for him to get the best out of the players he’s got?

Or make improvements in defence. I’d take a 10% improvement at this stage.

You know if he buys or re-signs players, he can't be held responsible if they fail. He must be given time to find new replacements if they come which is no certainty.

Says the guy who heralds Ivan Cleary who made 4year over inflated deals with washed up players that were our worst signings in history and then ran to a ready made team of young superstars.

Cleary was very poor at recruitment, no doubt. Good coach though.

Sure he is, but this is not an easy coaching role and Ivan didn't see it through and if any thing made the incoming coaches job even more difficult. He doesn't deserve any glorifying from WTs supporters.

Cleary is a better coach.

Talau?
Lolllll c'mon.

The Storm wanted him for a reason. Put him at a club with good coaching and he will grow.

He has a few wagyu types in his cattleyard - we have bush steers. It helps considerably.

I'm sick of hearing blame for our team results are due to a snowballing effect from the drawbacks set by previous administration.
Correlation doesn't always imply causation.
How the team performs does not depend on these factors - if a player drops a ball, that's categorically separate from them and if there is any organisational fault its more attributable to current coaching staff (our structures, not the club's historical issues).
This is equivalent to shifting Madge's selection of Moses Mbye onto Ivan.
Speaking of which the fact that he managed to maximise our team cohesion, effort and attitude; reinforces what I'm trying to suggest.
In all actuality he took a less talented team playing to the fullest extent and while it was a boring style, he succedeed in establishing a DNA from his standards. The team gained recognition as being the NRL's overachievers under his tenure.
A perfect example is the whole Luke Brooks argument, his development and evolution as a player are correlative to the club's historical culture problems but his current advancement is totally independent from it. As every game is a new opportunity to change/grow. His progression may very well be the byproduct of what unfolded at the club, however it's ultimately up to him to define the player he wants to be.

I believe there's an identity crisis(lack of identity) that's been unresolved though and it's seeped it's way into the team. I've pointed out previously that when IC came onboard his method of trying to create a more absolute identity, which was entwined with our foundation clubs, evoked the right attitude, reactions and motivational levels from the players.
I only wish to see the team show an instilled sense of pride and privelege at this point.

Thank you Lauren! Exactly what I’ve been saying, the team may not have highly skilled individuals, but we can form a highly skilled team. Sure, it takes time but we have no choice. Teamwork will make all of them better players.

Never mind about Brooks, Twal and Talau, I was only talking about Momo and Huth.

Momo is way better and smarter than any centre that we currently have running around and Eisenhuth was going really well for us at the end of last season when we had injuries and he really stood up and did a pretty good job for us (as did E.T.)

Whatever you may think, Eisenhuth is still considered to be good enough to regularly get a run in the team that is leading the comp and as a matter of fact I believe he has been selected in the 17 for all 12 rounds so far this season.

Then @bagnf05 needs to realise that Pascoe does not decide who the Tigers sign and let go.

The idea is to blame the people responsible, not those you don't like.

Madge and Hartigan are the people - at least you got one right.

No you don't.

He may be the negotiator and sign the contract on behalf of the Tigers but he does not decide who comes and who goes.

That is not selecting/dismissing the player. I think the Board would have a say in amounts more so than the CEO.

Neither of us know - so just guesswork.

You put the boot into Pascoe at every opportunity, I defend him. Stalemate. Let's leave it there again.
