Keith Galloway

Yeah Keithy went well today. I thought Blair played well too. Didn't make heaps of metres but seemed to be playing a "link man" role between the two sides of the field. Played more at lock in a Glenn Stewart type role. Worked well.

I noticed a few on the forum in other topics were giving big Keithy a bit of a serve from today's game but I thought he gave the Tigers a lot of go forward!

i noticed that also, some weren't stoked on his performance.

I thought overall he still has plenty to offer.

I like Sauce, be he plays as if he doesnt understand the game….

He is a first tackle monster, turns from the first contact to get held up, thus attracting a few defenders so he sucks a prop or 2 plus a second rower into the stand up tackle. The problem is his every run is almost carbon copy, he doesnt know when to fight for the ground or suck them in to pull numbers in for the spread.

Heres a tip, first hit up or settlers be held up, it draws defenders so the ruck area is overloaded with big bodies, after that look for width to isolate the smaller bodies sucked in to cover the gaps, to make a bust or quick play the ball. Keithy plays them all the same, held up and dragging them in, so he doesnt unleash the speedy players as the defence isnt struggling to make it back the 10m.,...

Tolman isnt as physically dominating, but comprehends the role , and is much more effective because of it.

Good to finally get a win. Good effort from the boys. Congats to brooksey and browny on debut! And the bloody shoulder brace cost me a try!

If thats true, then its good discipline from Galloway. Luani was able to complete about 5 seconds later!

He's behind Woods now, but when he's fit and firing he's still a force to be reckoned with and was solid today despite a couple of hiccups which look like it could be put down to carrying an injury into the game.

He has good leg drive IMO and it doesnt even look like he tries to run hard.
Just imagine if he ran as hard as Ava or Sue..

We have a solid forward pack for next year.

When we're on the front foot he's good but otherwise I find him too slow when compared to woods, blair, ava, brown. I think if he can have an injury free year in 2014 he'll perform well, its just a matter of picking our best 4 props every week.

He is as slow as a wet week.

The reason he is good when we are on the front foot is predominately because he is the one that gets us there. If he had some decent leg speed and lateral movement he would be the perfect prop.

Keith is a great prop when he hits the defenders he keeps going forward unlike most of our forwards this year. Personally I think he is better then woods but both are great and just be nice to see them on the field together for once

I;m hoping next year our other props improve around him so he can spent some time adding an extra dimension to his game, perhaps some old school offload second phase. Another hope is that Farah can concentrate more on the ruck and let Brooks play make. A Galloway - Farah combo could provide some good second phase.
