Another back we didn't need.

Richards has been going well in SuperLeague too, but again, we didn't need him.

Why release Ayshford and then sign two blokes to replace him?

I'd like a dominant Prop and a a dominant back rower first

and some halfback depth, either to be 7 at the start of the year, or as back up to Brooks.

agree

Comes down to a balancing act. Perhaps we needed the 80K (example) elsewhere and Lulia was available at a price we were able to match. As Mayer said, the Salary Cap is a balancing act always under review.

yep maybe- just seems wierd.
we need mongrel, bashing, cracked up forwards. we NEED that sooo bad. that's where we should start. tapau is not that. he runs hard but doesn't tackle hard.
potter and mayer have tried to make changes from the top instead of fooling around- they need to do the same for recruitment as well imo

You have to wonder why you would release Ashy and sign Lulia bit strange like for like really

Probably because Ayshford was being way overpaid (very likely) and Lulia will be on far, far less is my guess.

Can't see this as a bad signing. Seems solid enough & just means that guys like Nofo, Simona etc don't just get a walk-up start, they have to earn it.

And it's not like the Tigers are sinking $200k into him.

That can be the only explanation I guess oh well not like Ashyford wasnt a world beater and nor is Lulia so if we save some cap it's good I guess

It's hardly like we're swapping Aysh for Lulia. Like most have said, he's depth. Nofo and Lawrence will be our centres next year.

Yeah he sure can, good fend and strong in defense,

He has a highlight video on YouTube.

Was speaking with a Sharks supporter yesterday and he reckoned we are paying 2/3 of Ayshford contract for the next 2 years. Could be BS but given our history hope it ain't true.

Mate, think he's pulling your leg,
He asked for a release, we won't be paying for that.

Not sure why this post was placed in Keith lulia thread???

Already confirmed in the Ayshford thread that he asked for the release, Tigers not topping it up.

For almost 2 weeks their fellow “in the know forum members” had been promising Simona signed, sealed and delivered, instead they ended up with Ayshford, makes it easier for some to accept.

His a big boy 192cm and around a 100kg can he run and tackle??

looked at the photos of this bloke and he looks leaner than 100kg
Looks more like a centre or a wing than anything else imo..
so my question is why sign another centre ?? :unamused:

Having said that some not so big boys have good go forward.. dont ask me who cause i will struggle to name any..lol

The best thing about this signing is Potter has obviously sought him out and believes he can add some value to the squad. I'll be interested to see how Mick goes about using him.
