Kelma Tuilagi Signs With Manly

Twal is serviceable, Mikaele I’m pretty meh on. Offa, idk, he’s solid i suppose. The rest….

Twal style of play is more like a workhorse backrower but because he is a bigger body & we have no quality in the front row stakes he is lumped as a prop. He was having a breakout season at Lock and I think he could be worth a crack in the backrow for us.

I don’t think he’s agile enough to defend on the edge. But add papali’i and another dynamic back rower that can make a difference with and without the ball and all of a sudden Stef and Twal is a good solid front row.

We haven’t heard an official announcement from Tigers or Manly confirming where he’s gonna be in 2023 until we do though if he is leaving I wish him luck but second rower I’m not too worried about Blore could bounce back and I think Tuki was playing on the edge in the trial I think he’ll get better if the plan is to play him there and our development players are back rowers we can go to market for another one if we wish but we don’t need to break the bank we did that with Papali’I

Nor do I but he will go there better than our current depth backrowers would be.
Lets face it we don't have the luxury of options coming at us atm unless Sheens pulls off some more recruiting magic.

Talau I think is a clear cut candidate to move into the backrow but he needs time to mould into the position from a back.

Interesting career trajectory for Talau...

Halves > centre/wing > second row

It's interesting how junior 5/8ths move around as their career ages.
If they are small tend to move at stages between Halves/Fullback/Center
If they are bigger tend to move between Halves/Center/Forwards

Not many stay the course and play out a career at 5/8th

Yeah, I find it interesting.

He could do worse than grab Luke Lewis as a mentor
I don't know about Talau.....

Seems like a nice kid.

So disheartening watching him play in the backs. Does some good things then drops the ball all within moments of each other.

I can't see him tearing it up in the backrow but hey with the right preparation maybe he can be as good as Garner. Has youth on his side.

I think as a hole runner style & link man he would be successful but the defensive work rate is what would hold him back. At least in the backrow he wouldn't be asked to take grubbers or high balls.

His future has a lot of question marks over it....

I'd love to hear where he thinks his position will be.
