Every profile I can find of Kepaoa has him listed as a winger, and that’s where he played most of his games for us. Regardless, this signing dumps him down the 2022 depth chart.
Wingers - Nofo, Maumalo
Centres - Talau, Roberts

He's played all of his juniors as a centre or fullback. Only played a handful of games on the wing in his life before he joined us...

That's why people call him a centre. We had opening on the wing, that's why he played there.

Its pretty standard for coaches to bring younger centres or fullbacks through on the wing to get used to NRL level before pushing them in.

Yep at this point I’ve had half a dozen people explain to me in this thread that he’s a centre not a winger. I didn’t realise, as he was listed as a winger in the player profiles I could find, played wing for the Junior kiwis, and had the no.2 on his back for most of his 2019 highlights video (though he did appear to be playing at fullback for a lot of it).
Regardless of all this, I’ll take y’alls’ word for it that he is a centre. My original point still stands - the signing of Maumalo bumps Kepaoa down the outside backs depth chart for 2022:
2. Nofoaluma
3. JTJ / Talau
4. Doueihi
5. Maumalo
Depth 1 - JTJ / Talau
Depth 2 - Kepaoa

Kepoa over TT all day for me. He's faster, smarter and a better tackler.

Happy Tuesday all,

**Welcome KenM to the New Wests Tigers**.

Were building nicely and your the next peuce in our puzzle.

Interesting. I wonder if there’s some recency bias at play i.e. while Kepaoa has been on the sidelines, TT has put together some bad play, hence turning some people off him. My memory of AJ pre-injury was worse than Talau. Then again, maybe I just have a bias against Asu.

Welcome Maumalo. May your Tigers experience elicit the same reaction when it’s time to leave as you experienced after full time on Sunday.

Who goes, Roberts or Tommy?

Tommy

Not sure about that. I get the feeling Tommy might get the nod. As much as Roberts is trying, he's not coming up with much. I thought wing might have been his spot rather than centre.

I'd like to see Roberts get another go at centre playing outside Mbye.

Roberts is a centre, Madge as usual tried to manufacture a player, Roberts should be right centre, Doueihi at five eight, but no, lets move all these players around and see what happens

He has already taking advice from Sheens.

He did some good things at centre when given his chance but injury curtailed it

Doesn't seem thrilled to be leaving the warriors.
Was he forced out?

AJ and TommyT are both still very young.

To me they both have a tonne of potential. The question is will they fulfill that potential.

anyone else find those highlights underwhelming?

Most of those tries were Robert Jennings' type flop over the line highlights. Any of him actually making line breaks/tackle breaks from like......even half way?

Just as comparison to highlights 202 for our favourite whipping boy

At least Ken runs forward.

Jokes aside, you're right. I'm not sold yet. But people here are pretty confident he'll be the right fit.

The 'Lowlight' reel of Nofo's is, unfortunately, almost as long as his 'Highlight' reel.
Just can't seem to grasp the idea of staying on your man.

He needs to wear one of those electric dog collars ..
Step outside his zone ...zap ⚡️

We need tighter shirts..

They look ugly (ala Mitchell in Origin) but it's so much harder to tackle a person with a tight jersey than a loose one.

Liddle, Mbye, Douehi and all wear a jersey a size too big (probably coz it's confortable)
