Koroibete's speed returning

Thursday 9 May 2013 11:54 AM

Wests Tigers winger Marika Koroibete says he's not far off his flying best after spending five weeks in rehab after injuring himself against Parramatta in Round 3.

Speaking to Wests Tigers TV, the flying Fijian said he felt he was starting to regain form leading into Friday night's clash with Cronulla.

"It's pretty hard to come straight from rehab to the field," said Koroibete.

"I'm back on full running this week.

"Hopefully I've got my speed back."

I guess i'm probably the only tigers supporter that's not even close to sold on Koriobete?

As a whole? Tough to call on D, he hasnt exactly been supported on his inside.

But as an attacking option, apart from a dud step or 2 if his speed isnt hurting them his power is… a sniff of clean air and the bloke leaves a vapor trail.

how can anyone not support koribete
wow

Nthing to do with supporting him. I do support him. I'm sure he's a lovely guy and i hope he has a great career.

Im not convinced he has what it takes to make him a great first grade footballer.

Koroibete is the most dangerous attacking footballer in the NRL not named Ben Barba imo.

What an absolutely rediculous statement. He came is as an unkown and scored 4 tries on debut against a terrible parramatta team, and there's no doubting he is quick.

and he's done nothing since…. nada, nothing except show he's got suspect hands, falls over his own feet a fair bit and is probably one of the worst defenders i have seen.

Seriously, i have never seen anyone with an oncoming attack look so utterly lost. From what i can see his tactic is let them past him, and then chase them down from behind.

should not be playing first grade football yet. Being fast doesn't make you a great footballer.

I hope he suceeds but he's not there yet.

But seriously, you keep calling him "the most Dangerous attacking footballer" lol.

Wow, we have a player with huge amounts of speed and strength and the ability to bust tackles and you claim he won't be a first grader? Wow.

He is raw. I'm not denying that. He has poor hands and makes a few mistakes. But surely you can see the potential? He could be anything.

I'm willing to bet that people said the same things about Uate when he first came into FG.

Would you rather Utai or Reddy on his wing instead? Please.

He's one of the most dangerous attacking players we have and we need him in FG if we're ever going to trouble an opposition side out wide. The kid is 21, his defence and understanding of the game will improve.

Koro needs to stay because he has amazing speed and power. He also needs to learn to tackle, catch the ball and hang onto it.

Absolutely, poor bastard always gets posted by his inside men because they don't spread. He does have some defensive deficiencies, but poor decision making is compounded by those inside him.

Marika Koroibete can pick oranges from an apple tree and make the best lemonade youve ever tasted.

Once a cobra bit Marika Koroibete's leg. After five days of excruciating pain, the cobra died.

Marika Koroibete doesn't play "hide-and-seek." He plays "hide-and-pray-I-don't-find-you."

Death once had a near-Marika Koroibete experience.

Marika Koroibete can hear sign language.

Marika Koroibete counted to infinity. Twice.

Marika Koroibete once climbed Mt. Everest in 15 minutes, 14 of which he was building a snowman at the bottom.

Koro has a lot of growing up to do … He is only new to FG and his defensive awareness not as sharp as the best in the business but he is very strong in attack.

Being fast does make an outside back a 80%+ great footballer, the rest is their defense and support play.
What Koro has is determination, he takes the ball and runs hard towards the try line.

Do you think Morris brothers would have been any good if they were not quick? What makes Jennings dangerous ?? Uate ?? SPEED ....

I must admit, Koro is not the best in business BUT he is not lost either.. you are the one lost with the way he was summed up in your books.

I heard he once slammed a revolving door on the way to a game of connect four which he won in three turns. He is also the only man ever to touch MC Hammer.
