Koroisau Suspended

Are we forgetting he’s had several fines this year, cumulative effect imo.
We all know it wasn’t deliberate and anyone who’s played the game knows you use any means to stop the run and bring your man down.
I’m pissed off but not because he got suspended, but that he’s had a few warnings and he knew next step wasn’t pretty.
Don’t think there’s anything worth appealing about, I’m just
Hoping we get through this next few weeks successfully. It’s a very tightly grouped comp so a few losses could undo a lot of our early season success.

It is what ended Tuiaki's career.
We've already seen a broken leg and and ACL this year as well as a few other lesser injuries. Achilles have been ruptured in the past.

Wow Tuiaki what a player .... Career gone I remember that tackle but was
It called a hip drop back then or another name I have only noticed the hip drop the last couple of years

From memory there was no name for the tackle and no penalty. It was just described as a fair tackle that ended badly. There was no malice or intent. Essentially all the same descriptions used by people trying to justify why players should not be suspended for hip drops now, except the tackle has been outlawed for 6 years.

I wonder if in a decades time Craig, Cam and Bill will all be sitting at the pub reminiscing about all the different tackles they invented to maimed their fellow players.
Cam- Hey Craig that hip drop tackle was gold, it took them ages to realise what we were doing.
Bill- What about my chicken wing?
Cam- Fuk off Bill that was mine you’re not called the Karate Kid for nothing.
Craig- (tearing up) - That fkn Ute killed my career, I’m still seeing a therapist.

The hip drop is a joke it was brought in for the third man in dropping weight on a player held by others. Under the rules he’s guilty and has loading.

With no Korisau we have to get Madden into the team. Its left field but Luai to 9.

Well burton got off , given grade one , what a f****ing joke , he smashed staggs head into the ground and walks away , API was no where near as dangerous.
Also dogs prop got hit with a grade two for a little trip , a club needs to take these morons to court
Yet nothing but a fine for Cretin's trip, I mean Chrichton.

Comparing like to like, Nikorima got 2 weeks for a fairly innocuous hip drop tackle also. Api has been charged for 3 offences now within 8 weeks and has gotten away with just fines for 2. So I guess an extra week for that reason alone isn’t really that outrageous.
Still think 2 weeks would have been fair.

Yeah 2 weeks would’ve been nice for us and the team, but in reality 3 weeks is more appropriate for a player who has been on report 3 times in just 7 matches, considering Nikorima got 2 weeks without any prior offences this season. I think it’s a case of 3 strikes and you’re out.

All that said neither tackle warranted any punishment really. If the game wasn’t so pedantic and full of nonsense rules, both tackles would’ve been considered copybook cover defence like we were all taught to do in the days before the game turned to shit.

Would be worth challenging. I think there's a good chance we could get it downgraded, it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other hip drops you see. Surely the fact he was so close to our try line should be a convincing mitigating factor.

Getting it downgraded could be the difference between 1 and 3 weeks. Worth the risk of an extra week imo.
