KYLE STANLEY SUFFERS FIFTH ACL TEAR
Written by STAFF WRITERS, March 10, 2015
LUCKLESS Sharks recruit Kyle Stanley has most likely played his last NRL game after sustaining the fifth anterior cruciate ligament rupture of his career.
The former Dragons utility, who moved to the Shire club from Wollongong with Gerard Beale this season, was steering the fortunes of NSW Cup side Newtown last Saturday when a sudden change of direction forced him to the sheds late on in the game.
Sharks officials had been hoping it was just a strain but scan results on Monday confirmed the rupture which will see him undergo the fifth knee reconstruction of his career.
The news is a bitter blow for Stanley who’s five-year stint at the Dragons was plagued by injury.
Still only 23 years of age, it is not impossible to suggest he could make yet another comeback, but after five serious knee injuries one would consider it extremely unlikely.
Stanley is yet to comment on his future…
