Lachlan Galvin #277 *Megathread*

Chammas needed to convey his points with more strength and clarity, other than that he would’ve had Gus against the wall. Gould is completely full of shit
The bigger picture about Gould being a commentator and how he is able to publicly court players has raised perceptions of conflict of interest. Gould's answer do you think I care was callous. This is a PR disaster for Gould and use of "son" is poor.

I’ve heard the Moses camp are not overly happy with the Galvin camp. They orchestrated this whole ordeal for months to get him to Parra to play alongside M. Moses.

Galvin and his family had been talking to Vella and the dogs and he blindsided the Moses camp with the decision.

This is why on Friday night at the Eels game all the executives there thought they had Galvin (the Moses camp had told Parra he was going there). Cam Smith (who’s managed by IM) and Chammas even said on 100% that his preference was to go to Parra and his agent still wants him to go there.
this makes a lot of sense.
Particularly as IM knows the Eels have cash and the Bulldogs will tell Galvin to walk if he asks for more money.

Parra could be ridden like Dylan Brown rode them.

How could anyone possibly be upset about this. Gus should be praised for not taking Parra out to dinner first.

Gus' s obsession with Galvin goes way back he tried to sign him before.
The employing Vella, mending bridges with Moses the public messages all part of the plan to put them in the frame when he knew that Galvin was not going to re sign with WTs. And even if Galvin wasn't in Ciraldo's plan he just got a reminder of what it's like to work with Gus - gets what he wants and deflects all involvement - I haven't met with him
It may prove to be a master stroke - he has blown up things before to get what he wants successfully.
He is a ruthless operator who will continue to use his profile while ever he is given free reign and Chammas was brave to take him on last night not sure how that will pan out for him.

Hate to say it, but the NRL will do nothing about Gus, Galvin or Isaac. They've done nothing in the past to suggest they care at about the integrity of the game or it's fans. Vlandys only cares about the game making money, not Galvins dodgy contract situation.

The NRL love all the publicity. With the SOO and Galvingate they are getting wall to wall coverage across all media. You could not buy the publicity that Galvin has created and now with Gus’s grubby hands all over it makes it even bigger.

As for the NRL looking into the shady dealings that have transpired, you would live in dreamworld if you thought they might actually do something

It will all be forgotten about in a few weeks. The journos will move on to the next circus story (probably involving us somehow). And Galvin will be at the Dogs winning games, and the only ones still stewing will be us. Kinda like when Cleary bailed. Some outside the club saw it as a dog act, but soon found a new shiny object. And once you win 4 comps in a row, the way you left your previous club becomes ancient history. If the Dogs a win a comp (I don’t think they will, but if let’s say they do), it won’t ever be mentioned in the media again, however we’ll still be hung up about it.
Totally agree champ. This is what happens in professional sport, in a months time the Gus love fest will be going strong.

Dogs will fall away imo. Not just because of Galvin, but they’ve shown signs of fatigue for a few weeks now
Call me crazy but I give the raiders a good shout of winning the minor premiership. They’re whacky but humming along nicely atm
I use to dislike Ricky years ago but I like him very much now

He has so much passion for rugby league and absolute love for his players and the Raiders club I would say they are the second team I watch and a must after the game is Rickys press conference

I said in a response to a fawning post from @tig_prmz about his belief in Gus's Gospel - that Gould always speaks with a forked tongue and is a pathological liar who leaves massive human collateral in his wake at EVERY club he has been a part of!

I will take it one step further - Gus is scared of actual success that he can't claim total ownership of!

He hasn't come close to being involved in an NRL Premiership winning team since sitting above Ricky at the Roosters in 2002 (then losing to Penrith & Bulldogs in 2003 & 2004)!

Gould brought in significant external funding to Penrith via James Packer & both Federal/NSW political pork-barreling through his connections - but they only started winning Premierships when he was shown the door!

His scatter gun recruitment approach to stockpiling then prematurely offloading young talent without investing in development has been his trademark!

(Just ask BMM - Sitaleki Akouala - Te Maire Martin etc who he recruited from the Tigers with big promises...) or Ivan & Griffin who were just chess pieces on Gus' checker-board!

And his "marquee" veteran signings like Civoniceva - Maloney - Merrin - Kite - Soward etc...

This Galvin subterfuge has completely derailed a Bulldogs team that was humming along & winning through self-belief and collective defensive effort - and was potentially set for a Cinderella run like the Tigers in 2005 or Penrith 2003!

Again - Gus has created his own excuse to set the club back to supposedly bring in the X-factor they need to win the trophy...

He's a self-serving douchebag!
Brilliant summation

Thinking the same thing the other day. Sticky has so much passion for the game and his team. What you see is what you get with Sticky, he is not a sneaky slime ball like a bloke at Belmore who comes to mind. He also not afraid to point the finger at the NRL and highlight their shortcomings. He also has a knack of finding and developing good footballers

Man , this kid has some toxicity attached to him . 360 was 💯 all about the eels and dogs , and we didn’t even get a mention .
Apparently half the dogs spine has been told thanks but no thanks . Connective wise , that’s a top of the table spine . Especially Mahoney . He’s a grub , but that team hums through him . I can’t believe they’re pushing Mahoney out for Galvin .
Apparently he’s litterally going to walk straight into the dogs number 7….. man I can’t wait to play that team . Just run Samuela at him all game . He’s a marshmallow in defence .
I honestly no sour grapes at all think it’s legitimately 50/50 whether he will make it as a half . I can’t believe they’re doing this .
Straight up I thought Papenhuyzen when he played u20s for us was 20 times the player Galvin was and is . Fainu has shown just as much in the limited minutes he’s been on the field for us .
Like wtf is going on ? How can this kid with slightly above average talent have such a spell on the nrl that he’s derailed now 3 teams .
I feel like it’s when Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell got famous, and dudes were losing their shit . They’re not that hot! Galvin is not that hot ! Haha he honestly isn’t …

Mate to be honest average to good players stand out more at the Tigers because when the squad are not all NRL standard it's easy

Aaron Woods and others have left the club and have been bog average standing next to NRL standard players

The thought of Galvin playing in/possibly winning a grand final this year would be a hard thing to watch.

Gus Gould’s “tactics “ copping a lot of the blame, but in reality he just got lucky this time that Galvin’s boyfriend ex coach was already at the club…otherwise I’m sure he would have been at Parramatta by now

Seyfarth is so good. We should be locking him up on a long term deal. Other clubs will be coming for him like they came for Galvin. Price tag should start at around the $800K/year mark with a minimum 5 year length. Perhaps we could even consider a Taumalolo style deal where it's 10 years, but we might save a few bands by having it for so long.

Hopefully once the Galvin stuff is sorted Richo makes this his top priority.
God, don’t tell me Seyfarth is leaving too!

Playing along with the pantomime was Richardson, an old-school operator who initially stood up to Moses but was ultimately outplayed by him.

He insisted a board meeting held at the start of last week had nothing to do with Galvin being granted an early release. Two days later, Galvin was given permission to talk to other clubs.

The night before the board meeting, Galvin told Souths players after their match at Campbelltown Sports Ground that he was Belmore-bound.

By Friday, Galvin mysteriously popped up on the Bulldogs’ radar. By Saturday, they were favourites ahead of Parramatta. By Sunday, the deal was all but done.

“What happened this week is the goalpost got moved incredibly,” Gould said on Sunday afternoon.

Funny LG would be telling opposition players he was going to a club that had publicly said they weren’t interested in him & at that stage weren’t even allowed to approach LG .
Explains Benji’s tone in the press conference.
