OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Even if he was “owned”, what’s it going to amount to. This story is going to blow over in a couple of weeks and Gus will be out of the spotlight.
Because it should be all the ammunition Richie and the NRL need to get legal with this.

This is a case of complete breach of code of conduct. And Gould has done it in the public spotlight.

Many years ago for example, Laurie Daley was close to doing work with the Tigers and was not able to because of his tv role on whatever NRL Fox sports show he was on.

I want consistency.

I’m tired of our club getting pushed around by these pricks.

I am glad he is leaving so we can all move on. I would rather keep Latu, Sione and Samuela than Galvin because if Latu left we could probably lose Samuela and Sione also.
So instead of kowtowing to one particular player, we should kowtow to others? I’m all for keeping the Fainu’s, but idk why so many seem to think it’s acceptable to become submissive so as to not upset the apple cart. Same goes for when there are suggestions we should sign Terrell’s dickhead brothers. One who is barely NRL standard and hasn’t played in this competition in nearly five years. It just fosters a different sort of negative culture if you allow the place to become a boys club.

He could do that privately too. I don't think doing it in public changes a great deal.
In his position as GM it would be unethical for him to be privately talking to another clubs contracted player in his role as commentator he has free reign to make his position clear in relation to players that he would like to target - and he has done that blatantly with Galvin. And then acts all innocent when people call him out

Galvin rings out of the blue and tells Gus/ the club he wants to be a Bulldog - and yet Gus maintains he never spoke to him prior.

He also contradicted himself on that last night

I don't get why everyone is so worked up about Gus.

Sure he lied in the media and so what? If it was just about saying whatever you want in the media, the Dogs would have Haas, Cleary, Grant etc.

End of the day we created an environment Galvin was uncomfortable in and he's chosen to go to a team that he thinks he will do his best in. Doesn't really have much do with Gus' antics in the media. If Galvin wanted to stay, he would've.
It's his duality as an administrator and a commentator that's the issue. How many other administrators in the comp have regular opportunities to push agenda through the media let alone actively do so? It's ridiculous he's able to publicly comment on player contract situations at rival clubs when there's a direct benefit to the team he manages. He's spent an inordinate amount of time commenting on Galvin, giving unsolicited advice, stating he's been poorly managed and shouldn't sign a contract. He needs to pick one role and do that.

Gus came out a few weeks ago and said he knew what was the problem between Galvin and the Tigers was. I wonder now he has his man he might enlighten us to what the problem was!! Of course it is amazing he knew what the issues were when had not spoken to Galvin.
Is that sharing information he learnt as the GM of Football for the Bulldogs or as a commentator for CH9? It would be interesting to learn what conflict of interest protocols are in place at both organisations and at the NRL.

Mid season while leading the comp, Gus really is mental....
No didn’t you hear Gus on the footy show last night (Ch 9)
Blaming journalists for writing all rubbish about his players (Mahoney & Sexton ) and causing them all the Stress about their futures.
As it wouldn’t be him not renewing Sexton for next year that would be stressing 😩 him.
Or
Advising Mahoney he is free to negotiate with other teams for his future.

Seriously I think Gus might have been watching too much of American Politics and believes he can make
“Canterbury Great Again “

Galvins choice but what other clubs GMs are publically pitching to another clubs "best" junior that they want to retain, and using their presence as a commentator to do so?
Answer - no one.
Yep and Gould tried to use that as an excuse last night. Pathetic.

He has clearly breached NRL protocols. It’s farcical.

It wasn’t Daley’s media role that disqualified him, it was his employment with a gambling related organization.
But your point is still valid, it’s a conflict of interest.
