OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Anyone hear the rumours before about a player manager (unnamed) who had been caught making fake accounts on X agitating for the release of onE of their clients (also unnamed)?
Not hard to connect the dots.

Well said @Tucker. Something really interesting is that Penrith signed AJ Kepaoa. Now he’s obviously not going there to be a starter, but to even be apart of that squad given some of his form over the years is pretty eyebrow raising. Clearly Cleary sees something in the guy. And who would be brave enough to claim that he couldn’t become a revelation at a club like that under good coaching? Garner has been a consistent member of the 17. Now go across the bridge and look at Manly. How many people last year popped the Champagne corks after Talau left. I read all sorts of comments about how he’d be Blacktown Workers beat player. That was completely rubbish. He always had something, he was just a player suffering by being at a club who was unable to unlock him. We don’t unlock anyone. Who was the last player we signed, who didn’t look he was going to amount to anything and ended up killing it? Corey Thompson would be my guess. It just doesn’t happen here.

Players come here and they regress. Matulino, Packer, Reynolds, Leillua, Bateman, Klemmer, Ice. And when they fail, we all stick the knives into them. The question should be asked, why do they fail? And why is any random name that gets thrown up in the signings thread going to turn out any better? At least 90% of them won’t. There is only one player we have signed in the last five years who has been worth anything, and that would be Api. It takes a very special kind of player to come here and excel. The culture is toxic, and no no matter which individual we choose to pin the blame on, even long after they have gone, nothing changes. Now imagine being an 18 year old prodigy, who has interest from top clubs, witnessing all this and wanting to stay. Imagine being one of his advisors. You’d be telling him to run for his life.

If Cleary can make something out of AJK I will walk to Penrith ….

He has faults you can’t correct through coaching …

Also …a couple of those players you mention who were brought here and regressed were brought here by Cleary …

Maybe the club regressed Cleary too? I wouldn’t be surprised.

Imo Cleary was the best coach we’d had for years, pity he didn’t stick. The club was just starting to show something when he left.
Maybe he could be our best future coaching target to come back after Panthers win 4 and finish what he was starting.

Can’t see him extending his contract anytime soon, even if he will be forced to see out his current deal on average coin. Moses is like a dog with a bone, he will keep banging on the door for the release and the publicity it generates has a extremely negative affect on the club.

Also it would probably suit a team to get him in a few years down the track when he is a hardened NRL player.

If and when they reject our offer I would get Latu into no6 and use Galvin as a 14

I'm optimistic that this will be a distant memory this time next year. He's 18 and wants to win. Next year he gets an origin level halves partner. If we can sort out our three-quarters it would certainly help...
I think the forwards need sorting out just as much as the centres n wingers.

That's the point. Imagine being at the Tigers and being worried you can't cement a first-grade spot, what does that say about you.

Also I'm sorry for Galvin but I just can't see him remaining as a half into his mid 20s, I expect he'll just get too big and not be quick enough even if he doesn't put on much bulk. I don't think you can expect halfback options and halfback income for too long.
Someone on Fox, think it may have been Read, mentioned the coaching staff had spoken to him about moving to the back row. maybe that’s creating the urgency to lock down a half kind of contract?

he won't upgrade, his family don't want him to be a part of the club

Thanks for the usual negatives.
That being the case, no more NRL games please.
This season is over for Tigers and gives you 2 seasons to reflect on the advice you got over the decision to seek greener pastures.
Our no early release wont break the Tigers bank.
Or on a positive note, traded for a quality someone we need elsewhere in the team would suffice.

The club…meaning Pascoe and the Board ? ( don’t recall if Lee crossed over with Cleary )… it’s possible …

Cleary was given a lot of leeway at WT to sign dud and injured players though … which he delivered on
