Doesn’t the way it’s played out, now suggest that the manager was just doing what the player requested him to do?

If Galvin was never staying - and I dont think he was - then this could have all occured behind closed doors and been handled professionally.
The resulting shitfight hasnt helped the clubs image and Id wager a guess and state it seems to have affected our recruitment to some degree. We are once again a laughing stock and a punching bag.
He hasnt saved our season, what rot. Thats in the hands of Benji and the playing group. Additionally, we have zero idea how this has affected the unity of the group - we havent played yet!

I’m only going on what I have read and heard in the media, Galvin stated he can’t see his game improving under the coaching of benji.
I have heard with my own ears the same from his father.
We on this forum don’t know what or if Richo did anything with both coach and player to see if they could work it out, I’m guessing by offering Galvin a contract Benji was prepared to work with Galvin.
By Galvin not even looking at the offer he was not going to change his mind.
If Galvin was the only player in our current squad with that opinion Richo should have no concerns about the Coaching ability of Benji.
They are are building a new team and culture in the club that I have said numerous times it is still about 2 years away.
Losing one player should not stop the process.

Yes, this has been my opinion since the day it occurred. Moses didnt release all this information, the club did. That decision has started a chain reaction that led directly to where we are here today where we have to watch another talented young gun leave this place and drag us through tonnes of drama in the media.

Once again, the club is absolved of all failings. Its easier for the fanbase to have an evil entity to blame and Moses has form here. The mob also loves a scapegoat to attack and can turn on anyone in the blink of an eye.
The resulting narrative is that Moses is an underhanded piece of shit who hates this club and is actively trying to bring it down and Galvin is an entitled brat who divided the playing group as he hates the coach and may also be tanking games.
No one is questioning the Club's role in this because..."In Richo we trust"....

I don't think we've done anything wrong here, but something we do need to do better is get the trust of the NRL.

If you were to poll all 510 contracted players in the NRL, we wouldn't be in the Top 10 choices of almost every player if the money provided was even.

Player managers apprently find it hard to deal with us and ex-players shit on us when they leave.

The only people who seem to like us is the media because we help them get clicks. All the podcast channels, YouTube channels etc love discussing us because we give them so much to discuss.

I've been saying this from the start that we should've just said nothing until Nov 1 or close to the end of the season.

We came out so strong so quickly that it could only ever be a Him vs Us thing.

Luai, JAC, Burton, Thompson etc signed elsewhere with a year to go in their contract but there was barely any drama to it.

In saying all that though, the bottom line is that this kid had a contract with us for $350k for a year and a half and now he's getting $700k. We should be compensated for that. We should get an extra $350k added to our salary cap next year. (obviously won't happen), but just some sort of salary cap dispensation. Moses, Aloiai, Matterson, Galvin etc.. they all can't keep getting away with this. Literally all of them have used a mental health card to get an early exit and make more money out of it. Pathetic NRL still won't do anything about it.

The dossier seems, to me anyway, that it was built to use as ammo rather than a way to have things addressed.

The offer was rejected before the dossier came out. The dossier was the reasons given for the rejection.

I think once someone is taking notes on you from within your four walls to use against you, it's basically over....some might say it's treasonous. It's certainly not how you go about dealing with issues at work. To me, Galvin is Judas.

I give Gould the credit because when faced with a prospect without the things Gould had implemented, Ciraldo refused. Benji didn't, he just had a crack. Imo it's like the players saying they're leaving because they want to win. They're being paid to win, they're not leaving because they want to win, it's just another way of saying it's too hard. If Ciraldo was confident in himself, why not take the job at the basket case. Wouldn't matter because his ability would have shone through. Clearys did. Canterbury were the easier and safer option. I totally get that we've been seen as a graveyard for coaches careers so we wouldn't be as appealing. But it is still Ciraldo taking the easy option.

At the end of the day we weren’t keeping Galvin unless we were at least in the top 4 .

He’d played in winning teams all thru juniors & he couldn’t handle getting the spoon last year .

Didnt have the patience to go thru the rebuild here .

Same reason he chose not to be part of the rebuild at Parra & thought going to the team coming first right now would make him happy .

But I put 80% of the blame for this mess at Galvin and Isaac Moses feet. They've been itching for an excuse to get out since we punted Sheens.

Genuine question, how could the club have done anything different given the stakeholders involved?

I mean apart from turuva and his post (that was private)... Benji and Richo came out supporting lachaln.

We need to remember that there were lies printed in the newspapers about "bullying" at the tigers and the RLPA involvement that ended up being false..

Seriously, something does need to be done. The one part I really hate is where a player stuffs up, the clubs season is ruined, they resign with another club on more money!

If you stuff up, you should remain with that club unless you and the club agree somewhere else will train you better. (in fairness, were benefitting from this maybe with Taylan May).
