OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Some qoutes out of the off season have referenced his him as being quick, so my guess is its his build that makes him look slower then he actually is. Most tall players appear slower then they are.
My comment was based on how easily Ben Hunt got on his outside

Id say Galvin is use to the talk. They are targeted from a young age these days and he would be well use to the interest in him. He will either have the mental capacity to transition to FG or he won't. - it rarely comes easily .He has been identified, he has a massive opportunity to have a lucrative career he will have to get use to it if he is going to make it.
nope.
I doubt he even thinks he is used to the talk. If he does, he is wrong.

Brett Steward * had a young girl press into him when he was mid 20's. Lachlan and Latu are going to have people want to get them drunk or have fun or do whatever crazy shiz 20ish people are into.

We need to be ready to support both players, help them mature and not assume they will be right. Give them the skills to be right.

*as I understand events.

Didn’t he break some record in then season?
I think tall people usually start slower but can have a bigger top end speed?
I know one thing if my legs were that long I’d be practicing my side step, I can only imagine how far a bloke can step with legs that are 2m long?
I am really hoping this kid is too good to keep out of the team, but I guess I’ve been preying for that since Benji left the first time.

It is what between his ears that count. Has the football smarts just needs time and experience.
Agree Bellend. It's often said we lack speed, size aggression, etc, which is true. Even more than that, we lack footy IQ. Def see some of that in Galvin. Jack Bird's a good example I reckon. Sometimes hasn't got his body right, but has great instincts.

To a degree ...but you also need that bit of speed off the mark to make a defensive line 2nd guess your ball playing and kicking game aa well as your footwork at the line
Don't want to burn the kid & stuff his development by throwing him to the wolves, but could be a good 13 for us. Coach a style & game plans that make best use of the good players we have & try to recruit quality where we are lacking to support.
Easy in theory I suppose.

I was surprised at how well he went, first time with the top grade, trial or not.
Has everything to build on from here.
Hope he really triumphs.
For him.
And for us.
But did any of us ever think our team future was to fall on the shoulders of a newbie?
Time for the other 16 to find their feet too.

That formula worked for us the one and only time we got good.

The kid just looks the goods IMO.. I thought when Bud came back on, he took the ball too much and Galvin kind of was the 2nd option. I would have liked to see him and Sezer have a run together.

Think when Bud came back on Galvin then started to shift between Backrow/lock and center. Benji said he played 4 different positions in the 40mins or so.
