He didn't look sharp. I'd be using him sparingly till Jerome arrives. Is it me or does he seem to lack some pace

My comment was based on how easily Ben Hunt got on his outsideSome qoutes out of the off season have referenced his him as being quick, so my guess is its his build that makes him look slower then he actually is. Most tall players appear slower then they are.
nope.Id say Galvin is use to the talk. They are targeted from a young age these days and he would be well use to the interest in him. He will either have the mental capacity to transition to FG or he won't. - it rarely comes easily .He has been identified, he has a massive opportunity to have a lucrative career he will have to get use to it if he is going to make it.

Didn’t he break some record in then season? Some qoutes out of the off season have referenced his him as being quick, so my guess is its his build that makes him look slower then he actually is. Most tall players appear slower then they are.
Totally agree, first time I’d seen him play but looked to me like he had a good footy brain. It is what between his ears that count. Has the football smarts just needs time and experience.
To a degree ...but you also need that bit of speed off the mark to make a defensive line 2nd guess your ball playing and kicking game aa well as your footwork at the lineIt is what between his ears that count. Has the football smarts just needs time and experience.
Agree Bellend. It's often said we lack speed, size aggression, etc, which is true. Even more than that, we lack footy IQ. Def see some of that in Galvin. Jack Bird's a good example I reckon. Sometimes hasn't got his body right, but has great instincts. It is what between his ears that count. Has the football smarts just needs time and experience.
Galvin would be as fast as clearlyIt is what between his ears that count. Has the football smarts just needs time and experience.
Don't want to burn the kid & stuff his development by throwing him to the wolves, but could be a good 13 for us. Coach a style & game plans that make best use of the good players we have & try to recruit quality where we are lacking to support. To a degree ...but you also need that bit of speed off the mark to make a defensive line 2nd guess your ball playing and kicking game aa well as your footwork at the line
That formula worked for us the one and only time we got good.I was surprised at how well he went, first time with the top grade, trial or not.
Has everything to build on from here.
Hope he really triumphs.
For him.
And for us.
But did any of us ever think our team future was to fall on the shoulders of a newbie?
Time for the other 16 to find their feet too.
The kid just looks the goods IMO.. I thought when Bud came back on, he took the ball too much and Galvin kind of was the 2nd option. I would have liked to see him and Sezer have a run together.
