OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I’m merely pointing out for all the people blaming Galvin for poor 5th tackle options, that it was Luai who received the ball as 1st receiver 90% of the time, but instead of taking ownership of the 5th play option, more often than not chose to shovel the ball on to Galvin.
It’s ok to do that occasionally, but not as much as what he did.
Nathan Cleary certainly did not choose to shovel the ball to Luai on the 5th play that often.
Totally agree, trying not to rehash my words . Yes/unsure how ,Benji's Luia's plan helped last night

Why are you allowed to whinge about Galvin in the trials but others are not in a game that matters?
wtf are you talking about ? You were the biggest critic of him . You had wars with everyone over it . I have zero issue with criticism , but guys are already getting vitriolic and doomsday peddling over a 2 point loss .
That’s what I have an issue with ..

dont take it out on us that we lost -lol

What ? That’s literally the opposite of what my point is . Relax it’s 1 game . Don’t turn on them yet . And as a criticism , constructively , Galvin needs to stop being. Hog and allow the game to come to him !
im on your side of the street, be interesting to see how it pans out

Man we were predicted to come 8th at best . Thats 12 wins usually . Which means 12 losses as well ! We are in for a long arse season if everyone is going to lose their shit every time we lose….
I think with Api at 9 it should settle the team down . As well as line speed in the middle in defence .
But like @Tucker pointed out , I have been critical of Galvin all pre season , and I think he needs to settle the hell down and understand the game will come to him and pick his moments .

I’m saying you were very vocal about his poor play in trial 1 and are now having a go at people who are doing the same after his poor play in round 1.
That’s what I’m talking about.

If they make noise, him, his manager, and family well then get rid of them. Richo knows what time it is, we hold all the cards & leverage with a ready made 6 in Latu & Bud coming back. This isn't schoolboy footy. He's still finding his wheels 🤞
A ready made 6 who has barely played a first grade game and is yet to show any consistency at the top level?
Yeah .

Galvin when he grows into his frame could be what ever he wants. As some have said playing him in Reggies 1/2s lock 2nd row.Id like to see him back there playing center ,fullback. If he is above average in 3 of those positions he maybe worth the money being bandied about

Listening to Luai pregame being interviewed by the studio panel, he was questioned about the halves pairing with the absolute superstar at 6. Luai told them he would be giving Galvin plenty of clean ball at crucial times. I assumed that he was under instructions to do so.
Galvin played outside Luai all game, which is unusual, so I assume he was also under instructions to do that, rather than play other side?
Given the circumstances I thought Luai had a good game but he would’ve been better if he’s allowed to play his natural game. IMO, Benji should be helping Galvin to compliment Luai’s performance, not the other way round.
With this in mind, it appears Benji outsmarted himself. But as is often said, he would have been a genius if we had won.

I think Galvin was poor in the PM 13 game, in our trials and in the first round. Now, by poor I mean he hasn’t lived up to the hype or expectations. I think the kid has talent and we should give him the benefit of the doubt for at least the first 4 weeks. (I want us in the finals but our roster isn’t even close to that yet). The kid doesn’t have speed and actually I can’t recall him ever standing a defender up with his footwork. I wouldn’t listen to Gus, I wouldnt be surprised if his actual target is Latu and he hopes we go all in on Galvin opening the door for a Latu raid. Latu”s injuries worry me but he has show class and evasion that I haven’t seen from Galvin.

I should add imagine being Galvin and you receive the ball and you look outside you and you see either Douhe or faataape. FMD I’d be thinking run or kick to. Our centres are shit and in my opinion the worst in all of NRL history. It’s a position we have failed to ffind players at a level that represents the current NRL standard. We have centres of decent quality and we beat the knights by 20.

So we paid Luai $1.2M to play second fiddle? Galvin needs to stay in his lane. He is predictable and a hog. I am kinda pissed off with Luai, he should have taken on the responsibility.
TDS would be used to feeding the ball to Galvin as opposed to Luai
Think it will change when API is back as even last year he didn’t feed Galvin the ball every time he wanted it

Edit- didn’t see the game just assumed he got the ball more from the hooker
But reading here it seems he got a lot as second receiver

Nah that’s not who I’m having a go at . There’s guys saying we are going to come last , this club is shit , luai is a bust etc. it’s round 1 ! I know I’m posting this in the galvin Thread so it’s a bit confusing , but that’s what I’m saying pull your head in to !

New halves combinations do most definitely take time to gel, doesn't matter how much of a professional you are like any relationship it doesn't become amazing overnight. Daley and Stuart took time patience is a virtue.
Maybe they should have played some trials together, Plenty of NRL teams played there big names. But for some reason the 3 time wooden spooners thought they new better !
