Apparently Latu did sweet FA in yesterdays reserve grade game… his headspace is a worry

Dont tell people to relax....Manly & Broncos fans can relax...we threw away two valuable comp points, people have a right to be pissed offWhat ? That’s literally the opposite of what my point is . Relax it’s 1 game . Don’t turn on them yet . And as a criticism , constructively , Galvin needs to stop being. Hog and allow the game to come to him !
Fitness was definitely a problem. I noticed Pole inside the first five minutes could not get back onside until our second tackle. As the game went on he was joined by numerous others. TDS was penalized in our half for the same problem. We are not match fit yet but it is only round 1. Other sides look fitter.I dunno if that’s true . The games I’ve watched are beyond scrappy and just plain bad defence by some teams .
I know we missed 50 tackles , but I only felt maybe 3 times that the defence fell apart .
It’s just that the first guy making contact was dropping off a lot and getting help to finish the tackle . Not sure if that’s bad technique , fitness , or simply the knights players are big and strong .
A ready made 6 who has barely played a first grade game and is yet to show any consistency at the top level?
Yeah .

He looked like a taller more youthful version of Brooksy, and I think that’s why things are getting tense 😬I just though, that they may be more dynamic together, better suited... I don't think Lachie is a bad player or he should go...or be dropped, it's still round 1 😂😂
Didn't the NSW Cup team cop a hammering? It is hard for any half to shine in that situation. I was told he had some nice touches in the game. Fainu brings the game of a player who played his junior footy in the halves, desperately needed pace and his strong defence. With his pace and step he immediately straightened our attack in the trial.Apparently Latu did sweet FA in yesterdays reserve grade game… his headspace is a worry

That's been a club problem for quite a few years now. Just look at yesterday's games at Lidcombe. Flegg led 22 - 0 and got run down and beaten easily in the end. KOE were only down 6 - 4 at half-time and ended up being belted. That says poor fitness to me more than anything else.Fitness was definitely a problem. There was a moment in the game where Douehi and Skelton were two on two with their opposites, Galvin came across and held the ball with enough time and looked to play long but played short to Doueihi. Doueihi caught the ball flat footed and tried to run around Gagai pulled up about a foot short of the line.I think Galvin was poor in the PM 13 game, in our trials and in the first round. Now, by poor I mean he hasn’t lived up to the hype or expectations. I think the kid has talent and we should give him the benefit of the doubt for at least the first 4 weeks. (I want us in the finals but our roster isn’t even close to that yet). The kid doesn’t have speed and actually I can’t recall him ever standing a defender up with his footwork. I wouldn’t listen to Gus, I wouldnt be surprised if his actual target is Latu and he hopes we go all in on Galvin opening the door for a Latu raid. Latu”s injuries worry me but he has show class and evasion that I haven’t seen from Galvin.
I should add imagine being Galvin and you receive the ball and you look outside you and you see either Douhe or faataape. FMD I’d be thinking run or kick to. Our centres are shit and in my opinion the worst in all of NRL history. It’s a position we have failed to ffind players at a level that represents the current NRL standard. We have centres of decent quality and we beat the knights by 20.
There was another moment where we had made a couple of offloads and got near the Knights 10 meter line, quick play the ball from TDS and Lachie had Luai, Doueihi and Skelton outside him on a 3 on 2. Does the selfish play and goes himselfThere was a moment in the game where Douehi and Skelton were two on two with their opposites, Galvin came across and held the ball with enough time and looked to play long but played short to Doueihi. Had Doueihi hit that pass at pace and on Gagai’s inside shoulder it would have been a try every day of the week.

That’s absolutely insane that you think like that ….. it’s round 1 . It’s a long season if you’re this worked up this earlyDont tell people to relax....Manly & Broncos fans can relax...we threw away two valuable comp points, people have a right to be pissed off
I agree with that, early in the game. He skooted from dummy half, it’s like he was trying to draw the defence with his run but then ran too far forwards to pass out to Luai and had to keep going. There was another moment where we had made a couple of offloads and got near the Knights 10 meter line, quick play the ball from TDS and Lachie had Luai, Doueihi and Skelton outside him on a 3 on 2. We end up getting a penalty goal the following set but I’m absolutely certain Skelton gets his 2nd try if Galvin shovels the ball to Luai

Though if you look back at the game at that point if he runs right we almost certainly score or get another 5 tackles the whole right hand side was offside and was coming back through the play when Galvin picked up the ball.
If your tackles don't hit and stick and you have to scramble all game this is why they may look unfit but in reality they are doing far more running than the other team, this takes a toll just have to stop dropping of tackles, sounds easy well for us it's not.Other teams always look fitter than ours and i don't think i am imagining it
Luai & Gal have waisted a whole pre-season of "gelling" if that game was any indication of what they learnt from each other? There was 2 points on offer whether its round 1 or round 24. The 3 time wooden spooners and a millionth time finishes at 9th can not afford to let winnable games go, that's why there's so much noise fella. When the final round comes and we are 2 points from making the 8 image the noise that will make.
The season has started, its no longer the trials. Alleged pro footballers and 'time to gel' dont cut the mustard. I can smell the excuses of handicapped melancholy a mile away.
Ok so Luai joined pretty much at Christmas and the team was back at it at early January. Gets injured in our camp that was probably late January then trials.Luai & Gal have waisted a whole pre-season of "gelling" if that game was any indication of what they learnt from each other?
If Gal insists on having ball in hand, make him the half. But the spoon it out to Luai to be creative. Galvin is not very creative IMO. Just likes running, usually across field, crabbing, and crowding the outside backs. Lacks straightening the attack and off loading to support or cutout passes.
Opp. coaches would have worked him out now and have that base covered. Second year syndrome?
I know---------- "he is only 19".
Up to the coaches and Luai to sort him out, quick time!
A new halves combination is never gonna be perfect from day one give it a break -(he also played in a side that missed 40+ tackles which doesn’t help either)start to worry by round six if they’re paying poorly,.There was 2 points on offer whether its round 1 or round 24. Latu wasn't a GUN in yesterdays big loss in the KOE game. Shovelled the ball out whole game, no runs.Latu is a gun. Galvin is a back rower.
