OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I thought more of the kid. Seriously thought he had some character and bought in
I don't think we should drop him, he's too good, I like the @Tucker solution of playing him at centre. It will probably simplify the game for him anyway. Doueihi into the halves until Latu returns then it's Latu time, a player who is arguably as good in potential as Galvin.

Sad to see Galvin go, he's very talented. Club handled well not letting it go and rejecting a release.
WHy would we develop him over Latu now? If he is adamant that it doesn't matter what we offer and he won't resign, then he doesn't deserve the opportunity..

From sg ball to NRL ...

Seriously disappointed in his character

Yep. Bird already playing his potential role on the bench, Twal doing a great job at lock. Swap for Doueihi makes sense

It is so disappointing but the silver lining is a bloody phenomenal replacement in Latu Fainu on our books and a sizeable amount of money to strengthen other positions.
100%
I’d almost rather Latu develop as one of our long term halves over Galvin anyway. I really don’t think we’re missing out on much.

Hopefully we stick with Latu in the halves for the rest of the season and through 2026. No reason to put Galvin in there unless there are injuries.

Dropping him would be silly, but I'd be bringing Latu in as soon as he can. Galvin lock or bench. We must focus on keeping Latu now.

This will probably get ugly later.
It’s already ugly now. Richo was around at the Galvin’s place and senior basically told him that his kid deserves the keys to the club and would be the best franchise player we’ve ever had, while Richardson continued his comparison of the kid to one John Sutton. His future is most certainly in the forwards and apparently this absolute gronk believes he’s worth closer to $2,000,000.

Glad we’re on the front foot and taking his feet from underneath him (which his family planned to do us), not fussed if he’s dropped on his head or from grade, either way works.

PS, I’m sure many won’t agree but these are facts!

A real shame he's not staying, clearly a very talented player

Respect the club for coming straight out and saying he won't be around after '26, hopefully that means the media won't go TOO crazy about it all.

I think they'll stick with him for this season, and he'll be gone by the next.

Whatever, the disrespect he has shown the club is beyond belief given the opportunities he has been given.

He should be given permission to look elsewhere in the off season. We might be able to get a decent player swap out of him.

Play him in Cup once Latu is back. Good to have that clarity.

Can we get some clarification that the words out of his mouth is that he will not play for the tigers beyond 2026?

Or could his management have said this and it doesn't reflect Lachlan's position?

To be honest when the team wins and he's been celebrating he doesn't look as enthusiastic as the others

"Despite the club having the largest contract offer for a junior in the history of the club on the table, Lachlan and his management have decided his future lies elsewhere and were not willing to review the offer."

You can't deny the club has handled this brilliantly - that statement is entirely pinning this back on him and his manager. Nobody can say the tigers dropped the ball here, we genuinely did all we could.

There is no doubt, no matter what people think of him - he is a superstar in the making and this is a generational loss. However, unlike the past with the loss of the big 4 (3) we have another potential superstar ready in the waiting to slot straight in. Not to mention we have a 4 time premiership winning half already here.

Onwards an upwards. Now we know our future is set.

I think this answers the question why he's hogging the ball most times. He is trying to show off and what he's not realising is, it is damaging his image from being a "very" good player to just being good. He kills the attack sometimes and I hope he soon learns for his sake.

I might be the only one, but it really doesn't bother me. He is not worth over a mil and watching all the club videos and T May's Vlog he just doesn't seem to want to be involved as much as the others imo.

He is a good player but IF he wanted to be here, he would have already extended and upgraded.

I love the club's statement and back them doing this so now we focus on what's best for OUR club. He clearly has another club that have advised him of an offer as you don't walk away from like 5 mil for nothing. Not a fan of his agent like most.

As soon at Latu is fit Galvin goes to bench or reserves as no point putting more development into a player leaving.
If we had the depth in the centres now, I would move AD to halves with Laui but the club won't do this.

This opens the salary cap quite a bit so would love to see AD and TDS extended plus upgrade and extend Bula.

Pretty wild that the decision has already been made, April 2025, for the 2027 season.

Surely there must be some kind of negotiation to come for season 2026 for whoever is Galvin's destination. It doesn't strike that Tigers would want to continue paying Galvin and developing his game for him to definitely leave.

What would be extra crazy if Tigers have 2 good seasons and Galvin backflips.

The media statement sounds like Richo through and through.

But typical mercenary stuff - if the player tries to leave the club during the previous contract, you can bet your bottom dollar he'll do it again next time. Very like Tedesco.
